I have visited so many attorneys for consultations (for my specific QDRO issue) I've encountered attorneys who claimed to have experience with this specific legal issue, only to learn (After I'd paid a retainer & several hourly payments) that the only thing the attorneys had accomplished, was collecting my money. I had been handling this issue alone (not by choice) for over a year. I'd gotten to the point that I would literally feel ill the night before I had a consultation with a new attorney. I prayed that God would direct me to someone with Integrity, someone who would genuinely care, have my best interest in heart (instead of his pocket) and who would see me as a HUMAN who NEED HONEST help, instead of a dollar sign. During an hour long consultation session, he went above and beyond to help me. He called his friend who had immigration background to get my question answered. He did all this for free.
