I had two weeks to file divorce paper work. It was already filled out, but I was moving and needed an attorney to file and go to court for me. It took 9 days to recieve the legal service agreement. I called the Friday after my Monday consultation and was told I would receive it on Monday. I delayed my move across the country so I could be in state when the paperwork was filed. Nothing came until Thursday, and my paperwork needed to be filed on the following Monday. It would have gotten in just in time, had anyone known (knowledge an attorneys office absolutely should have) that the superior court did not take personal checks. The delay was blamed on a miscommunication, and that they were under the impression that they had until November, which they did. I did not leave the state until November. Regardless of the reason, all that was required from their office was to send me a legal service agreement, and file my (already filled out) initial divorce paperwork within 2 weeks, and they could not accomplish that. Very disappointed
Edit: I have been informed that it was stated in the legal service agreement that court fees must be paid in money order or cashiers check. Unfortunately, I had no way of knowing that, as I dropped my personal check off a full week before I even received the legal service agreement, and Ms. Akiona's legal assistant was either not informed of this either, or chose not to pass that information along to me, as I was standing in front of her, writing a personal check. In addition, I gave specific dates at my consultation, and regardless of whether it was 4 days, or 100 days, I was told it could and would be done. Further, I was in the office on the 22nd. I left the state on the 31st. I was a legal resident of the state until the 5th.

Akiona Law conducted themselves professionally and efficiently throughout my case and were very easy to work with during this difficult time. I would recommend them to close friends.
Peace of mind isn't easy to find when dealing with legal issues, but when we leaned on Akiona Law for our legal matters they were able to counsel us in a way that lifted our burden and concerns. I'd recommend Ms. Akiona to anyone seeking Family and Divorce Attorney support or guidance, she's supported us during more than 1 circumstance and never left us unsettled.

Went in for a consultation. Was not dissapointed in the service we received. Cozy office. Chocolate was good. Staff friendly. Would feel confident hiring if we end up needing an attorney.

Wonderful folks who treated me well and gave me a hefty discount for my military history. Jodi was knowledgeable and had great contacts at the court house which made our trial there smooth and trouble free. I highly recommend these folks to represent you.

Appalled at the individual who called me back who was unprepared and not ready to even talk to me, because she failed to have her information ready. More upset she shushed me while I was explaining things. Did you know you can listen to what a potential client has to say, and let them know when they are DONE speaking you need one moment and ask them to repeat what they were saying? Interrupting and shushing me is not only disrespectful but just classless on your behalf. It makes me believe you won't actually help me in my case and ignore what i have to say (for future referencing). Super happy we never continued forward with working with this group of attorneys. Based off of the other reviews i've seen its clear i've made a good choice.

Saw Jodi, She laughed at how much money I made, actually laughed, (thanks for the ego boost), she wasn't sure how much to charge for an uncontested divorce and decided it wasn't worth looking into, she obviously didn't want my business...that cost me a hundred dollars. Took me 5 minutes to find someone else who seemed a lot more interested in helping/taking my money.

A hard divorce is all the harder when the fight is over child custody too. It's harder still when you live across the state from the courthouse and your lawyer. That's the situation I found myself in when I contacted Akiona Law to represent me.
It seems odd saying I "Loved it" with my review, but the 5-star rating is what Akiona Law earned. Even though we were unable to meet in person, the firm made it clear they were dedicated to my case and passionate about representing me. The quality of communication I had with the firm also helped put me at ease about the outcome of the case and the fact that I wasn't there in person.
The firm delivered more than I could have asked for, during such a trying time. If there were more stars, I would click on them too.

Ms Akiona was amazing through my divorce! In one of the scariest and most difficult times of my life she was there with a listening ear, yet confidence to fight the battle ahead of me. She was very direct and factual, in my very emotional state, I felt like she always had my best interest at heart, and helped me plan for my future, not just in the moment of crisis. I would highly recommend her to anyone who was going through a divorce, there isn't enough thanks that I can offer to her and her staff!
