I first met Hillary when I was detained in county and right from the get go she made me feel at ease! Her compassionate, kindness, understanding, and forgiving qualities are bar none the best I've ever seen in an attorney, and I come from a family of them!
The court presence and respect that Hillary has is what makes every penny spent on this firm worth it! In the end she gave such a powerful final statement that it literally left the Judge speechless! The final result to my case was incredible and life changing!
If you ever retain this firm make sure to ask for their ACE, Hillary Parsons!
My 2016 DWI was a nightmare. Because of a previous DWI involving a loss of life, Anoka County prosecutors charged me with First Degree DWI, a felony offense with a possible 7-year sentence and mandatory minimum 3-year sentence, if convicted.
Hillary Parsons visited me the night of my arrest, on a busy holiday weekend no less, and was able to secure bail for my release. She next introduced me to Joe Tamburino, who assured both my fiancée and me that he and Hillary would beat the felony DWI charge. Yes, Joe also said there existed a chance that Anoka County would prevail, but that chance was small he emphasized. "We know the law," Joe said at our first meeting, "and the law is on our side." Terrified, I could only focus on the seven-year sentence with a mandatory minimum 3-year incarceration term that would result were I convicted of a felony DWI.
Were it not for Hillary and Joe's tireless efforts, I would be serving seven years in prison. Incredibly, they convinced both the district court and, later, the appeals court to reduce my felony DWI charge to a gross misdemeanor. And against the stringent objections of the prosecutor, they were able to secure workhouse release and home electronic monitoring (a rarity in Anoka County) for me so I could maintain my employment and thus save my home from foreclosure. In short, because of Hillary and Joe's expertise and aggressive teamwork, and the considerable time they both dedicated to my DWI case, I am now at home with my family and not in prison.
Over the course of their representation, both my fiancée and I had unlimited access to Hillary and Joe via texts, phone calls, and office visits. They literally and figuratively held our hands as they navigated us through a very painful and fearful time.
Words fail to convey accurately the depth of gratitude my fiancée and I have for the second chance Hillary and Joe gave to our family in being able to move forward in our lives and ultimately putting this painful episode behind us, but we are forever grateful to Caplan & Tamburino, specifically to Hillary Parsons and Joe Tamburino.
REPUTATION IN a COURTROOM - prosecutor is an attorney, judge is an attorney, and my defense is an attorney. It is critically important how my defense is regarded in this courtroom. I saw judge repeatedly asking defense attorneys, who were crowded outside of prosecutor's door to be quite, as they were loud and disrespectful! I also saw Hillary Parsons enter that court room. She was an ideal lawyer from "Law and Order", smart, beautiful and determined. She moved and spoke with grace, and was highly regarded, starting from a court clerk, and to a presiding judge. I did not even have to physically stand in front of a judge with a gross misdemeanor charge! Hillary did that for me. She got a hearing date and I was on my way to work.
WINNING CASES - this firm is determined to stay on the top, which means winning cases. They will tirelessly study every shred of evidence that the state may have, and apply their brilliant knowledge of the law and court proceedings to defend a client. The charge against me was dropped thanks to Hillary's investigation and hard work! There was not even a hearing!
Thank you Caplan & Tamburino! Dialing your number in a time of distress was a blessing!
Once again I had to ask for help from this distinguished company ))) Hillary was amazing! She is someone out of a movie or a university book... she got prosecuting attorney to fight for me... this is a hidden secret in Minnesota....She got me out of Jail by getting probation officer out here))) she is amazing... if it was not for her, I would be facing a year in jail... she got it down to two days of community service... she is awesome )))
Their firm is easy to locate right in downtown Minneapolis. My first impression of the firm in general was modern, clean, and very welcoming. I was greeted by Peggy who is very friendly. She offered me a soda as I waited for Hillary. She didn't keep me waiting long at all. She was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. During out first meeting she took the time to get to know me as a person before getting into my charges which meant a lot to me. Being an open gay man it can be hard to feels safe with figures of authority. Hillary is extremely LGBTQ friendly, something I find important.
After taking my case Hillary worked extraordinarily hard on my behalf. She was VERY easy to reach and never left me waiting long for a reply to any question. She checked in periodically and genuinely wanted the best outcome for me. Her smile and well mannered humor was something that brought me peace of mind during court days,
My felony charge was dropped along with 2 other charges against me. Thanks to her diligence and intelligence I am able to continue my career as a RN. She fought for my license like it was her own. I will never forget that. I HIGHLY recommend this firm and Hillary Parsons as a lawyer. I don't know where my life would be without her. I can't thank her enough. If you're in need of legal help give yourself some peace of mind and hire Hillary.
I'd give here a 6 out of 5 stars if I could (at least). And this is why:
Overall, I literally could not be happier with the results (AKA end charges) I obtained for each of these 3, independent cases. Each case I attended court for, they all ended up resolved with such little consequence (vs. what 'I expected' could have certainly been faced with, without her [AKA a nightmare of a sentences]). She has incredible devotion to her clients and will work super hard to represent/help you the best she can both in court and outside of court. She is fantastic about answering questions/concerns, explaining what is happening, and just in general, super puts your mind at ease.
She's incredibly experienced and competent in what she practices.. she is phenomenal at getting a great resolution for her clients, no matter what the case. She knows county prosecutors throughout the state (and metro area) and has really good relationships with them (which means in the end, you're going to get a way better sentence deal for your case). She also is super helpful in terms of the best move to make given your charge situation.
Yes, it may be a bit more pricey than competing lawyers but trust me, it's worth investing your money and confidence in her!! I'd always go back to her if I were ever were charged with anything else.
To thank her and let her know how well I’m doing!
In July 2014, I was served with a harassment restraining order at my job in New Jersey by a woman in Minnesota with whom I had an affair for a year and a half… All because of the book I was writing about events that ultimately led to my divorce, the sale of my house, and a move across the country. If I had let this order stand, I would literally be jailed for writing a book.
Initially, I thought I could take her on alone because the charges seemed so ridiculous. I was so sure I could win just by walking into the courtroom with a copy of the Constitution. But when I got back to Minnesota, I learned she had lawyered up and they were playing hardball. They thought they could push me around, so I needed a great defense team to help me save the memoir which I had spent more than a year working on.
Caplan & Tamburino may have been a little more pricey than the competition, but I could see in my web logs that Joe Tamburino and his team were putting a lot of effort into reviewing the details of my case before I even met with them for the initial consultation; before I had even paid them a dime. I knew Joe Tamburino was the right guy for the job.
I'm sure I was a real pain at times, too, because I wanted to have a very "hands on" role in my defense. But Joe never shut me out and he kept me actively involved. I always felt like I was in control of my case and he expertly delivered the statements, memorandums, and examination in a professional manner that I never would have been able to on my own. Even up until the very end of our final court appearance, six months later, far longer than he ever thought he'd be involved in the case he took on for a flat rate, he was on-point. He never backed down in the face of her attorney's dirty tricks and intimidation tactics.
After Joe's closing argument last week, I knew there was no way we could lose. Just today, December 27, 2014, I received notice that after six long months of delays and stalling by her side, we won our case and my book will be published. This case may very well have big first amendment implications in Minnesota and beyond. Losing this case was not an option. I know I picked the right firm.
I interviewed three firms in Minneapolis with Allan Caplan and an associate being the only attorneys meeting in person providing me with my options, solid defense strategies and expectations before leaving the office.
Hillary Parsons was the attorney that took the lead in my case. Her professionalism and trial expertise is unparalleled. She understood my apprehension toward the entire legal process which led to Ms. Parsons representing my case with me rarely setting foot into a court room. In fact, through the firms professional channels and streamline efficiency submitting legal documents to the State, I only lost my right to drive for a total of one hour. I mention that because I remember the cop harassing me at the time of my booking about a guaranteed loss of driving privileges prior to a court date as he cut my license. He showed me pictures of the breathalyzer I will need to have installed in my car and bragged to me that he has never had a dui charge overturned.
Ms. Parsons had several defense strategies to represent my case and did hours of leg work to prepare for her appearances. It was very evident the prosecutors and judges totally respected her legal opinions and courtroom expertise. We declined every plea presented to us.
The end result? Because of the teamwork at Caplan & Tamburino....every charge (both criminal and civil) was dismissed!!
Here's the kicker....After the eight month fight in the court rooms and all the work Ms. Parsons put into my case to win on all fronts....I received an unexpected refund check in the mail. The firm had already saved me thousands of dollars while providing me with a defense worthy of a Hollywood script. I will forever be indebted to Caplan & Tamburino and especially Hillary Parsons.
ALLAN CAPLAN, JOE TAMBURINO, AND THE STAFF ARE SEASONED LEGAL PROFESSIONALS WHO KNOW WHEN TO INVESTIGATE THE FACTS WHEN YOU'RE WRONGFULLY ACCUSED , OR ARRESTED FOR SOMETHING YOU DID, OR DID NOT DO. THEY KNOW HOW TO UTILIZE MY SERVICES TO GET ESSENTIAL INFORMATION NECESSARY FOR COURT. I ENJOY WORKING WITH THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE ETHICAL, HIGHLY RESPECTED IN FEDERAL AND STATE COURT, KNOW THE LEGAL SYSTEM INSIDE AND OUT, AND GET RESULTS.
Caplan & Tamburino's lawyers (especially Hillary Hujanen and Joe Tamburino) were exceedingly professional and personal. They advised me of all the rights I had regarding my case. They advised my injured passenger (and friend) of the rights she had in the case and the contact she should be getting from the prosecution. All in all they helped me navigate through a tremendous s@#$ storm of legal papers, drawn out test results and half-true police reports. They advised me of the how/why state prosecutors ring up so many charges against an individual. They advised my passenger of her rights to have her story and wishes be taken into account in the judgement of my case and they took my own story to the prosecution.
It is their level of professionalism, experience and personal character that was able to sway the prosecution in my case from a full on assault for a CVO conviction to a plea for a 1st time DUI. The consequences to myself being much much less severe.
In the end they provided me with an excellent defense, an excellent legal resource (making themselves available to my questions and always getting back to my communications very promptly) and excellent guidance to myself and my friend in the handling of this debacle. Beyond that they are extremely down to earth, pleasant and caring people. I am very thankful to have had them on my team these last 8 months and am grateful to their excellent advise and counsel.
I have no problem giving Caplan & Tamburino Law Firm my highest professional recommendation and will not hesitate to contact them in the future should the need arise. They are the best.
