My daughter was nine months old when she was suffocated by the hospital and now suffers with severe spastics CP, she is legally blind, and has anoxic brain damage throughout 80% of her brain.

After signing with him, he literally did nothing with my daughters case for the first two years. One day before the filing deadline, he filed her case. Leading up to that cut off date, I requested several meetings with him to find out the progress of the case and he broke out all of these binders and insured me that they were on top of it. I was young and dumb and actually believe him.

The next five years we spent doing video depositions, getting expert witnesses, and prepping for trial. During one of our meetings I will never forget what Patrick told me. He said, “ we would never settle with one or two entities of the case because that would release the limits of liability. We either settle with all of them or take all of them to trial and let the courts decide who is liable”.

Getting closer to trial, we did a mediation where we were presented with a very small settlement which I turned down. A few days later Patrick called me and presented a new settlement offer which I also declined.

Two weeks later we start a trial and the moment the trial started I knew instantly he wasn’t prepared. He stuttered, was not knowledgeable about my daughters case & he didn’t fight for her. His presents over the course of the trial seemed like he was just there… Not invested whatsoever into her case for achieving a win. Dearing the questioning portion of the trail, I realized that the main hospital that we were at when everything happened was not there. I was very confused whenever they sent the jury to go deliberate because there were several people that weren’t question. I asked Patrick several times, “why is the jury deliberating when everyone hasn’t been questioned”. He gave me several excuses but at that point I knew I couldn’t trust him. Finally the jury came out with the piece of paper that was going to decide my daughters future forever. Words that would forever change all of our lives ... “we find the defendant, not guilty of medical malpractice”.

I was in shock as it should have been an opening closed case. Come to find out, Patrick went against everything he coached me on in the beginning and instead decided to take The second settlement offer ( without my approval or knowledge) therefore releasing the limits of liability. If he wouldn’t have settled, we would have won because the hangup with the jury was identifying one single defendant that was responsible for my daughters permanent, severe injuries. If all parties would have been there, the jury would have decided in favor of us and would have issued a percentage of responsibility to each defendant.

FYI - We hired an economist to prepare a cost-of-living and medical needs due to her permanent disabilities. Her life care plan was valued at $12.9 million dollars.

He settled out of court, without my knowledge or approval, because he knew he wasn’t prepared to win this case so instead he decided to protect himself and make sure that he got paid. After all of his fees, and expenses (even though he never presented to me one time and expense report showing me where we were at and what was going to be owed to him)... my daughter walked away with $400,000 & he walked away with $850,000. Talk about justice!

The state needs to take away his license he's a liar and a cheat and a thief and I am reporting it to the state everybody else needs to do the same thing
