I question the service you're being billed for

This law firm is the worst there is in history, Tina and the rest are crooks and unprofessional, the Attorneys never talk to you directly, they have paralegal returning calls, and they the paralegal made their own decision, they charge illegal attorney fees if they are upset with you, they try to use legal terms to intimidate homeowners out of their homes, they charge fee for 4 hours when they only put in 30 mins, we need to report them and have channel 10 do an investigation on them, they are scammers that wants homeowners home.

I highly recommend this firm, "Straley & Otto". As a client of theirs for over 15 years, they are a firm of great integrity. Always ready to help especially in times of great need. Mr. Otto saved us money, and at the same time gave us great peace of mind in times of big decisions that had to be made.

There are many Attorneys to choose, far less that truly understand Association Law, and even fewer that are a pleasure to work with.

BUYER BEWARE!!! If your real estate property purchase is affiliated with this law firm, be advised that this law office uses legal intimidation to threaten any home or condo owner (HOA). I did my research before making a purchase. My ex-brother in law died of a heart attack while living there. I was interested in purchasing the unit; however, I heard and saw what my ex-wife was dealing with.. Currently, the President of the Association is excellent. His predecessor was an unempathetic individual who abused the POWER OF THE HOA PRESIDENT, it was the president's decision to involve the attorneys. The previous president offered a close friend realtor to purchase the unit for grossly undervalued; my ex-wife refused to sell it in "AS IS CONDITION". It became quite apparent the dynamics were in favor of that presidents agenda. In my presence, my ex-wife called three times a day throughout her 10 month ordeal. Charlie Otto was "never" available. His legal assistant runs the show. These lawyers have a poor reputation on the street and on the internet. Many residents I spoke with stated that this law firm has, equally, attempted to foreclose on his/her unit. These are elderly citizens. Some are bedridden. The lawyers harassed my ex-wife with monthly threatening letters. Fees, liens, very sad when lawyers lower themselves to the level of harassing innocent elderly people. My final word, I now refer to this team of inept lawyers as, "THE GHETTO THUGS OF THE ELDERLY". 09/01/2018... RESPONSE:
Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to respond to the “ONE” star rating... Typical generic reponse. This office has time to respond to this review. However, zero time attempting to resolve my ex-wife’s issue without threatening her. We read all the documents. Nothing from that specific developer “states in writing” with regard to delinquent maintenance accounts, extenuating circumstances..etc... Therefore, we differed to Florida law.
Shouldn’t this law firm’s time be better utilized on actually talking to the owner and resolving the issues amicably? Unfortunately Straley and Otto handle home owners without care and compassion. Immediately this firm resorts to becoming “Ghetto Thugs”?
Unfortunately, boss man passes the home owner/ “victim” off to “inexperienced” underling to follow through with the office policy of intimidation. Get better ratings by respecting your elders and become positive mediators instead of “attack dogs”. Keep working on your reputation...

I just got off the phone with Dayna Kasimier and I am in utter disbelief at the level of unprofessionalism and general disregard of the law by this "law firm". I received on May 9th from Straley and Otto informing me of my HOA's intention to record a claim of lien against my property for unpaid HOA dues. In the letter, it said I had 30 days to dispute the validity of the debt or the Claim of Lien would go forward. My HOA hadn't applied all my payments so I responded within 30 days to dispute the debt. Luckily, I sent the letter in via certified mail.

I received another letter stating they had recorded a Claim of Lien. I never received verification of the debt. I called to find out what happened and was told by Dayna that they "did not have my email address or phone number so they could not contact me." When I pressed further about why they did not respond to my verification request IN WRITING, I was told that it was up to ME to provide proof that I paid. Basically, they appear too lazy to do their job. I will be retaining my own legal counsel, per Dayna's advice.

I've been using Straley Otto for all my real estate closings for the last 8 years. Their team is patient and always willing to go the extra mile.

As a property manager, I deal with many different "vendors". It is unbelievable how many are being paid but tend to be non-responsive to their customers. Straley/Otto on the other hand, despite being a law firm and extremely busy, respond to my Association needs promptly and comprehensively. They never give us ambiguous responses that result in a request for more opinions and therefore more expense to any of the Associations for which I manage. My main contacts are Charlie, Dan and Galit and I find them to be simply the best. Love dealing with them and highly recommend them!!! Thank you Charlie, Dan and Galit for your expertise and all you do to help us navigate through Condo and HOA management!!!!

This place is just about the money, this has nothing to do that they represent my HOA. This is about how they convince HOA's to hire them and that they cost less to the HOA. but never telling the HOA that they will live off the poor backs of the Members of the HOA. Sad, They just don't care about. Hoa's, if you care for the members. Do not allow them to fool you. They will destroy the members and leave and you will be left with people who will hate you where you live.

These people only care about getting paid. no moral values.

Beware, This firm does not care for anyone, but care only about money. they are destroying my HOA.

I attended an association board training class conducted by Charles Otto. He was extremely knowledgeable, informative, and entertaining. I highly recommend him.

I contacted Mr. Straley to help me with a Code Violation Case where the City said I owed $475,000. He took the initiative to negotiate with the City before the hearing and then represented me before the Magistrate and the Code Hearing Board. He was able to convince them to settle with me for $2,000, for which I am extremely grateful as I could have never paid this money back. He even got me a payment plan for the $2,000! I am so glad I contacted him.

Straley Otto handled 2 of my titles and closings. I don't think it could have been made any easier, these real estate attorneys know exactly what they are doing. They saved me money and gave me complete piece of mind.

Rudeness unparalleled!

The senior partners of the law firm both Straley and Otto NEVER communicate directly with people who are trying to amicably settle an issue. I have tried to amicably settle an issue for nearly 2 years, something that could have been easily rectified by a simple meeting and handshake with either senior partner but I was always put off to a person with much less authority who could not handle the simplest of situations. Because of the unwillingness of either senior parner Straley or Otto to meet or even talk to me over the phone, a matter which could have been settled with a mere $1000 payment is now well over $5000 and liens have been placed on a FULLY PAID OFF HOUSE! The senior partners it seems do not wish to get involved in anything and let their underlings handle things that is beyond their ability, scope or authority to handle. I am a professional and when a client asks to speak wit ME, I don't put that person off to an underling who hasn't the authority to deal with the issue. It seems that both Straley and Otto have purposely ignored my truly sincere attempts to settle this issue and instead have artificially made this small issue into a much larger financially intolerable issue which will no doubt put more money into their coffers and pockets. I finf that to be very unprofessional and sad!
