I have known Stephen for approximately 6 years. He has handled various legal matters for me, the most recent a child support issue. He has ALWAYS been an asset in the process with his thoughts and sincerity. In court Stephen was well prepared and did a very good job. He is well respected in the community.

He basically insterted my name and my choldens name wherever he needed to on the settlement. And I paid him 3800. Never made it to court or anything. He takes forever to do things to get paid more. Then after he typed my settlement told me I owed him another 1500$ and I didn’t know from where. Makes no sense. Plus his secretary is the rudest most bidder old lady there is to ever meet. When we first started she over charged my credit card because she is old and can’t see and when I told her something she said she didn’t while I had the credit card statement in my hand. Worst “lawyer” ever. I’m not sure how he still has his license or why he hasn’t retired.$3800 later still nothing but a fake settlement that never got signed.

I don't understand where the other reviews come from. In my case, I started trusting Mr. Butter when I saw how knowledgeable he was about family law. But, he saw the opportunity of a high profile case and dragged it as much as he could to charge more money and the results where nothing near of what he promised it would be. On top of that, he charged DOUBLE when the case was settled. And then, had to go back to court for a mistake they made in the agreement (which he should have known better as the "knowledgeable lawyer" he seems to be). And after charging more than a 6 figure number in the whole case, he didn't represent me neither defended me well at court. Such a disappointment!!! He is just another greedy lawyer. I honestly advice you to please don't go to him. Save yourself the disappointment and the money.
