My husband is a good man and he has moved on from his bad experience, but his story should serve as a warning to anyone thinking of retaining Rhonda Swanson.

When my husband's ex filed for divorce in 2008, his family unfortunately trusted Rhonda to advocate for his best interests. She was happy to accept $30K of my parents-in-law's life savings over a period of two years, but the second time they had to go to court, she dropped my husband's case THE DAY BEFORE THE COURT DATE, as a power play, and my husband had to represent himself before the judge.

If that weren't obscenely unprofessional enough, Rhonda botched his case in many other ways. When the ex demanded that my husband have a psychological evaluation, Rhonda didn't ask for the ex to have one as well (which is supposed to be standard practice). During his ex's family's slanderous testimonies, she never asked questions to cast doubt on their lies because she didn't want to annoy the judge. When the custody evaluator did a horrible job of interviewing his family members (to the point that even his ex's attorney verbally acknowledged the bias!), she didn't take exception with that either. Time with his kids was the only thing my husband cared to fight for, but Rhonda constantly pressured him to settle for less time with them, despite the Guardian ad Litem's recommendation that he receive more time. Her reasons for the lazy approach described above: she "has to work with these people."

On top of all of the above, she completely left Right of First Refusal out of their decree (a standard inclusion), and neglected to add language to the decree specifying that he wouldn't pay child support during the summer when the kids were living with him, so for the first four summers he had to support the kids AND pay his ex. Eventually his family hired attorney Elizabeth Storaasli, who is an absolute shark, to fix the child support matter in 2012 and she did a great job; my husband no longer pays child support during the summer, so we can actually afford to feed the kids while they live with us.

Warning in summary:
Rhonda is rich. She doesn't need your money. If you hire her, she will fight for her interests, not yours, and may do a very shoddy job. If you object to that and she doesn't appreciate it, she may drop your case at the most crucial moment, just to prove a point, and you'll be on your own in court.
