Friendly staff and “act” professional, however my experience was terrible. I was told to not worry about my case and didn’t need to do anything since it would be no doubt a open and closed case for me. Got to court with ex wife and was totally the opposite. They did not prepare me nor tell me what I should have been doing the entire time I was waiting for the court date that could have got me the outcome I wanted which was to have my daughter. Also took weeks sometimes to even speak with my lawyer to answer important questions. I was charged way more than the retainer fee for them to do hardly any work or preparation. Absolutely do not recommend this place. Fired them and retained a great lawyer that said that was terrible practice and they got me prepared right away and now I got what I wanted months ago. This is my opinion only and I stand strong to this. Be extremely careful of what you choose if you want results.

I came to Sherwood Family Law after the attorney I had retained for my custody case, wasn’t representing my son, or myself the way I felt an attorney should do. It was the BEST decision ever to retain Sherwood Family Law. Daniel Strausbaugh was my attorney, and he got my son & I everything that I proposed & that was best for my son. But it’s not the fact that he got us everything we were asking for or proposing to opposing party or the judge, it’s that he truly cared about me as his client & the outcome it would have on my son (who is two).

I was supposed to get a call back, yesterday, from someone about a consultation and to go over my matter. I never received the call. I typically do not call people out on this one of stuff but this is not a light situation. Divorce is serious and extremely emotional. I can't have a lawyer that doesn't care.

Megan was great! She helped me get through a really tough time. I had false allegations made about me and she showed that not only were they untrue, but the individual making the allegations was unreasonable, not credible, and vindictive. I highly recommend her. She was absolutely fantastic and made the entire process much easier to go through.

I was referred to Sherwood Family Law by a friend and I couldn't have been happier with my experience. I worked with Ryan Hamilton initially who was professional, informative and prompt to respond with updates and any questions I had as I have never been in a custody dispute before. My case moved to Dan Strausbaugh as it was heading towards a trial, and he worked just as hard with communication and making a complicated case as smooth as possible. He worked hard to defend my case and I ended up with a judgement that was in the best interest of my daughter and I. Do not hesitate to use them for your legal needs. I have already referred people to them!

I had a 1-hour consultation with Ryan before my hearing to keep my Ryan. He guided me through the process and helped me understand how to present my case. I had the hearing the next day and got my R.O. continued.

Good service and great rates

I used this firm for my divorce. They did not do anything to alleviate my concerns or walk me through the process or proactively guide me through next steps. I had to contact them repeatedly for status updates, clarification of documents they sent me, and get questions answered. They were always very proactive in asking me for money bit that was it. Additionally they asked me for an additional $1000 trust deposit AFTER my ex and I both signed all the papers and we were just awaiting the judges signature. I had to wait a whole month after to get a refund of over $600. After waiting 10.business days for the refund I reached out to them to late the money as I had not yet received it and I received the response of "There is literally nothing more I can do on my end" wow! Unless this is not your first rodeo in divorce (which for many of us it is) I would NOT reccomend this firm to represent your interests.

I hired Megan Paull to represent me in a restraining order, divorce and custody case in January 2018. Having never been in my particular situation before, I was nervous and, at times, grumpy. Megan and her team, Taylor and Mychal, helped to explain even minute details of my case to me.
My case took a year to come to trial, I received weekly updates. Megan arrived early for the trial and was very well prepared.
Even though I no longer reside in Oregon, I would recommend Megan Paull for anyone who needs a family law attorney.

Ryan Hamilton handled my modification case after investing some of his time (free consult!) getting to know me and the situation I was dealing with. Divorce is a very difficult time, especially if you and your spouse are at odds. I originally hired Ryan to work up a disillusionment to my marriage that I hoped would be an amicable divorce. My ex. originally agreed, but through poor advice of her friends and family decided it was best to hire a top divorce attorney. That started a lengthy, costly battle that could of ended up in devastation to my family and finances. Thankfully Ryan was more interested in getting the result I was looking for, a fair and amicable divorce. Through his advice we avoided responding to false accusations and costly heated exchanges that would of solved nothing, except to cost thousands of dollars and escalate an already difficult situation. It was obvious that my ex's attorney was a litigator and didn't understand the situation in our household. Through Ryan’s guidance we avoided the expensive trial, custody experts, etc. and I got the fair and equitable divorce I was looking for.
