I had filed a patent application with another patent law firm, who shall go nameless, and I kept getting refusals and kept pay that firm and their attorneys a bunch of money every few months to fight each refusal. I eventually decided to take my case elsewhere and came across Johnson and Phung during a google search and like the fact that they had good review. I met with Thomas Phung who reviewed my case free of charge and said that although my patent application that the other law firm wrote up was short and limited, that he felt that there were things that he could do to potentially make some headway in my case but nothing was guarenteed.

Thomas Phung is a brilliant attorney. He walked me through the process very thoroughly and gave me great advice. If quick respond time and quality work is something you are looking for in an attorney, look no further. I started with trademarking my social media app with Tom and now all my legal issues and concerns go through him and him only. Highly recommended!

I was in need of filing a patent on an idea that I had and after doing some research on line i still had some questions to ask. I called a couple of law firm and left messages and the only attorney that got back to me was Thomas of Johnson and Phung. Although his schedule was busy he was able to rearrange his schedule to get me in right away for the free initial meet and the thing that i like about him is that he was honest about what he can do for me and the options that were available and i felt like he wasn't pushy and didn't try and sell me on his services. After returning home to think about our meeting i did receive calls from 2 of the other patent places that i called and it wasn't from an attorney but their receptionist who both told me that their attorneys could "fit" me in 2-3 weeks. That was my last sign to go with Johnson and Phung and i couldn't be happier with their services and would recommend them to anyone that needs patent work done.

I have worked with other patent attorneys in the past and am so glad to have discover Thomas. Thomas and his firm are very knowledgeable attorneys and not only try and protect the invention that I want to patent but they also go beyond that to try and protect against peoplebwho might try to design arpund my invention. It was a pleasure to work with Thomas and I thank him for all the successful outcomes.

This firm is very honest and fair. I tried to do a trademark myself and it got rejected. Suddenly I was hounded by a bunch of lawyers saying they could fix it, I went to 3 of those places and one of them actually made it worse and charged me for it. A friend finally referred me to Thomas who told me that he could fix all the problems that the other me and all the other lawyers had done or reapply for the trademark at a fraction of the cost. None of the other attorneys told me that option, evidently to keep their fees high. Thomas got my trademark registered 6 months later without any denials. He is already working on my 3rd trademark. My experience has made me realize that not all attorneys are the same which is why I wanted to write this review to hopefully help others find the good ones.

I live in Hermantown and the only patent or trademark attorneys nearby are located 150 miles away in Minneapolis - St. Paul. And when searching for attorneys down there I had no idea which patent attorney to pick from and how much they charged. I did some research though googling and cold calling and the firm and attorney that impressed me the most was Thomas of Johnson and Phung. He called me back within 30 minutes after I left them a message on their contact us section of their website and only only kindly answered all the questions that I had but all of my follow-up questions several days later. He even said that I can email him questions during the weekend and he'll answer them. This was even before I became a client. I would highly recommend Thomas and his firm to anyone needing patens and trademark work done.

I had come up with a new product that I wanted to start a business with but did not know where to start. I did a bunch of research from legal zoom to the invention submission companies and they never provided me with the direction that I was looking for. Then someone who had worked with Thomas of this firm told me that I had to contact him and I can't thank that person enough because Thomas was easy to get a hold of and patiently explained all of the questions that I had such as helping me protect my new product and helping me with the product branding.

From my experience I would fully recommend Thomas and his frm to anyone that starting a business or needs patent and trademark work done because it'll be the best decision that you'll make for you business.

I live in the Andover/Blaine area northwest of the Twin Cities and there are plenty of options patent and trademark attorneys that are closer to me in Minneapolis but I speficially choose to make the longer drive to St. Paul to do business with Johnson and Phung due to the quality if their work, their responsiveness, and the competiveness of their rates compares to some of the law firms that I've done business with in the past. I've referred multiple friends to them and everyone of them tell me that they've had the same positive experience as mine.

This is my first review ever but I just felt the need to express my positive experience with Thomas and his law firm. I live about 80 miles south of the twin cities and was in the process of starting an online business and was looking to file a trademark to protect my business name and had no idea where to start. I had some free time on a Saturday and googled trademark firms and choose Johnson and Phung due to their high reviews during my Google and contacted them through their website's contact box thinking that someone will contact me the following week. Instead Thomas emailed me back about an hour later (on the same Saturday) and we started a question and answer session through email. I felt comfortable with Thomas and things went so well that my trademark application was completed and filed by Thomas on that Monday morning without me ever meeting him in person. Honestly, it was more difficult for me to figure out how signup to write this review than to file my trademark through Thomas. Of course highly recommend!

My personal experience with this firm confirmed why every review is 5 stars. All communication from the very beginning were quickly attended to and have been great. Thomas takes the time to listen and understand everything and answer every questions that I had. Everyone I come into contact with at the office is friendly and professional.

It was a pleasure doing business with this firm and Thomas. He knows his stuff, is enjoyable to chat with and explains things in a very clear manner and will give it to you straight. Nobody likes billings but I never felt like I was nickle and dimed and there were never any surprised invoices because he made an effort to obtain my approval before sending me a bill. I would not think of going to anyone else for future patent and trademark work.

I initially went to this firm back some time ago looking help in obtaining a trademark that I had come up with. Met with Thomas who told me that it was going to be hard for me to get the mark that I wanted based on what's out there. I went to another attorney who told me that I had a good chance of getting that mark so I had him file the application for me. I never did get that trademark even after paying that other attorney a bunch of money to fight the trademark office. So when I needed to file for another trademark I back to Thomas because I realized that I would rather have my attorney give it to me straight rather then hire a yes man who just want my money. Thomas has since obtained 3 trademarks for me and I have been recommending him to everyone that ask me.

Started an online business last year, for the sake of cost was initially looking to go with one of the online services. Didn’t feel comfortable going through the online application, as I am not a lawyer. Decided to give Johnson & Phung a call and had a consultation meeting with Thomas Phung. He was very straight forward and knowledgeable. Never felt like he was trying to sell me his services but felt he was truly there to help. He gave great advice which I believe led to ultimately saving money in the long run. Once I decided to move forward, he handled everything which was great. I didn’t have to try to be a trademark attorney. The hardest part was waiting for the application to process but it got approved!

Mr.Phung is amazing at what he does ! He was very professional with me as an attorney and very timely with responses something that was super helpful being that I am new to the whole process of trademarking ! Thomas helped me obtain 8 copyrights for my songs and his service was excellent and I felt that I got value for the money that I spent. I would recommend his law firm to anyone that needs patent, trademark, or copyright attorney work done.

I'm from southern MN and have been working with a patent firm in the east coast for some time and recently was looking for a firm that was more local to me and wanted to kill 2 birds with one stone by meeting with some Patent firm's while I'm in the twin cities for a Wilds game. I was able to meet with 2 firms as 2 of the other firm's that I call didn't have any attorneys that could meet with me. Thomas of Johnson and Phung was the last firm that I met with and I'm glad that I was able to meet with him because he was very knowledgeable and yet laid back and made me feel comfortable with all of the questions that I had. I never felt that he pushed for my business which further sold me to his firm. I also liked the fact that his firm's rates were much less expensive than the rates that I was use to. I am expecting to transfer all of my legal patent business to hos firm shortly and would revommend that anyone looking for patent or trademark work done visit his firm at some point.

I previously went through legal zoom to file my a trademark and a patent application. Both got messed up and when I contacted them they said that they can't help me but could refer me to some Patent attorney that charged an astronomical fee. I decided to check around and had a meeting with Tom who was help me to salvage the situation at the lowest cost possible. For example he told me that instead of having him try and correct all the issues that we're wrong with my trademark application and not knowing if the trademark office will accepted it, it would cost half as much to have him file for a new application. I completely recommend this firm and will go to them from now on. By the way, go to legal zoom at your own risk.

I live on the west side of the twin cities and hate driving in the metro but still make the drive all the way over to Saint Paul to work with these patent attorneys even though there are plenty of options closer to me in Minneapolis and on the west side of the twin cities because of the services, rates, and results that they provide and would highly recommend them to others.

I've used different patent attorneys in the past with mixed result and luckily stumbled on these guys through Google and based on my experience these guys really know their stuff. And it's an added bonus that they're very reasonably priced for their service compared to what other firm's are charging. Obviously I highly recommend them and will not be looking for any other firm's to handle my patent work.

I obtained a patent with this firm years ago and moved out of state for a job relocation. It wasn't until I interviewed and hired local patent attorneyd there that I realized not only how great of a job Johnson and Phung did but also how fairly price they were compared to other patent firm's. Being an amateur inventor I would contact these new attorneys once in a while to throw out potential new ideas or check up on my case and every time I did I received a bill shortly after and I never did with Johnson and Phung. I also rarely reached an attorney on the first call and I always did with this firm. Even though I live in a different state I have since gone back to Johnson and Phung for all my patent and trademark work and obviously highly recommend them.

Some firms told me that they'll have an attorney call me back and never did. When I called this firm one of their attorneys by the name of Thomas answered the phone and answered all of my questions over the phone without charging me a dime even though it took like 30 minutes. I have been working with the Jacobson and Johnson firm off and on for about 14 years now for protecting my various inventions and cannot say enough good things about their services. I like the fact that whenever I call one of their attorneys answers the line to answer whatever questions I have.
