Luke Gunnstaks and his team assisted our family in a difficult matter over several months. During each step, there was constant care and attention to every detail. We highly recommend this firm.

Ethical and knowledgeable and compassionate .

Got me custody from mother after 10 years.

Would have been good outcome if kds were no so psychologically damaged.

Nevertheless skillful and ethically got me - a male - full custody

I have been meaning to write this review for a little while now. Luke Gunnstaks is an AMAZING attorney. He is very knowledgeable. He took my complex case and turned it into what looked like “nothing” to resolve. Not only is he great, but his staff is VERY helpful and friendly! I am very blessed that I had Luke Gunnstaks on my side. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I REGRET hiring C Luke Gunnstaks and Gunnstaks Law Firm. I have in writing from Gunnstaks, that I "would receive all of my money in the IOLTA account." When I began realize in August 2017 (after the court hearing the end of July and only a few days after the second mediation) what had happened in my case and began asking for Gunnstaks to be accountable for his actions and also his invoicing and statements, Gunnstaks began saying I was delusional and needed psychiatric medical care. He withheld $25,054.75 from my IOLTA account for the months of Aug. 2017 to the final decree date of 12/04/17 which equals a billing of approx.$6,236.87 a month! There were NO in person court appearances or mediations and I had to be proactive forwarding documents to Opposing Counsel myself. I also began doing my own research and found many discrepancies from what I had been and what was reality. Thus I began asking more questions in reference to accountability. Gunnstaks continued telling me I was delusional and need psychiatric help and would not sit down and go over his invoices. His taking the $25,054.75 was also above and beyond his being paid $18,850.00 in cash, for a Divorce for a couple who were both over 67 yrs. of age, married 10 years at the time and had no children. Grand total received by Gunnstaks: $43,904.75! Gunnstaks had told me he would have my divorce final by 08/02/2017 and it was not final until 12/04/2017. There were also many other issues from August going forward. I was in shock the day of my court appearance and when I received my case docs, I found that Gunnstaks DID NOT HAVE ANY HAND WRITTEN NOTES from the first Mediation! I then wanted to settle and Gunnstaks told me "Rebecca, give me 2 days and I will have the cases!" He later told me he had them. 2nd Mediation, he did not have any cases pertaining to my issue. There are so many other issues; filling out the original Contract of Services in the wrong name, and filling out a single Limited Power of Attorney in 3 different names, Rebbecca, Walter and Watler and changing the date without my initials! He forwarded to me the wrong Divorce Decree to sign for court, and he changed items on my Divorce Decree without my knowledge or consent and forwarded them to Opposing Counsel! The list does not stop here. Gunnstaks was to provide me ALL OF MY ORIGINAL CASE DOCUMENTS and HIS HANDWRITTEN NOTES WERE WITHHELD! He would not forward them to me by Certified Mail, so I had to send a 2nd Courier to pick them up.Gunnstaks banned me from his office so I was not able to pick up my own documents and a Courier had to sign for them "blindly" not knowing what was or not being received etc. thus the second courier. I also had to hire another attorney to review and make corrections necessary to my final divorce decree.

This is what Gunnstaks wrote in a Certified Letter to me with a check for the balance of my IOLTA account after he took out "what he thought was fair and reasonable expenses" ($25,054.75): "It is my sincere hope that you will seek professional mental health care as I have only recently suggested, and I hope that you will faithfully follow any medication recommendations of your treating physician/psychiatrist, in order to avoid being foreseeably found to be a danger to yourself and/or to others by a Judge of a Probate (Mental Health) Court." I feel this is a threat. I do not want Gunnstaks to do to anyone else, what I have been through.

I have dealt with attorney's in a 28 year law enforcement career, and Mr. Gunnstaks is one of the best that I had ever seen. He is thorough, persistent, and will fight hard for his client. I also give two thumbs up for his paralegal's and secretaries. I have made several recommendations to my friends and family to use his services.

I have been in a high conflict abusive custody battle for over 12 years now. Luke came to me through me through a friend that knew my situation. My ex fled with our son to another state and had abducted him and alienated me. I've had supposed "good" attorneys before but Luke is beyond "good", he's excellent and exceeds in his field! He is a hard worker, and looks for the truth of the matter. He is genius in the courtroom, and a perfectionist on any and all court documents that are drawn up. His staff is extremely helpful, professional, and have it together. He his well known, and is one of the best that does what he does. Although, he's hard to get ahold of and that's just because he's always busy. He always answers and is responsive, to my questions and concerns, through his staff. I've had attorneys that I had to educate, not him!! The only thing is that he can't do the foot work that I can do, as far as, documentation and filing out things that are of my knowledge and experience. I don't want an attorney, I've had them, that will do things like charge for filing out discovery. He is a man of integrity, brilliance, and a heart of gold. If you need some poop cleaned off your shoe from courts and exes, he's the one who shows you how to get it off without getting it all over yourself. He has done what I thought was not possible and got the work done, and cares.

Carl Gunnstaks (aka C. Luke Gunnstaks) was hired as my divorce attorney in August, 2016.

My name was misspelled 3 different ways on a Limited Power of Attorney, part of which, Gunnstaks filled out. The date was listed incorrectly and was changed. I was not asked to initial said change. My Driver's License was not requested to prove my identity. Gunnstaks did not list my name correctly on his Contract for Hire.

Opposing counsel wanted his client's name changed on the divorce decree. Gunnstaks made this change to my Divorce Decree without my knowledge, consent or approval and forwarded said changes to opposing counsel. After the fact, I had Gunnstaks add “aka's” to cover any and all names opposing counsel's client had used, to make sure the document was legal. My name was listed two ways on the divorce decree without an “aka,” so I called that to Gunnstaks attention to correct also.

Gunnstaks did not list an important witness (that was given to him in 09/2016) on the court documents filed at the courthouse for a “witness list” for the Mediation, so a very important matter was then nullified during Mediation and from the divorce decree. This person was provided in order to be a witness to verify the value of a property renovation.

Gunnstaks told me throughout the year that he had cases to prove up the main item of ownership for a property in which the “Option Check” written to purchase the property was declared the first rights of entitlement because I was not married at the time the property was purchased. He did not have the cases to prove up this matter.

I hired another attorney to proofread all final Divorce Decree documents to make sure all matters of the Divorce Decree were correct and legally written. Changes to my personal property descriptions had to be made or would become an issue for a title company should the property be sold in the future.

The final Divorce Decree that was forwarded to me for my signature, was not the correct copy. I caught the error and had to request the correct copy be signed and forwarded to me again. Gunnstaks is very expensive.

5 STAR Reviews can be written by employees and prospective clients like myself would not know this when reviewing before hire.
