It has taken me awhile to write this review, but it was because I wanted to do a good job. Carl represented me in two cases in Dallas County. I was referred to him through a family member of mine who knew him. Upon his advice, we proceeded to a jury trial on both charges. I honestly felt like I was Not Guilty - but I soon learned the DA's and the criminal justice system simply doesn't care. Regardless, I decided early on to put my trust in Carl and his team, and let them be the director and just tell me what to do. We ended up going to trial on the cases, and it was clear that not only does Carl put an immense amount of effort and time into preparing for trial, but he also is very skilled and experienced. He is very good at bonding with jurors, and is smooth in presentation and not abrasive. I didn't want to testify, but ultimately he convinced me to. I was elated when the jury returned a not guilty judgment on BOTH counts! Carl was very honest with me up front, all the way up to when the jury was deliberating - that he felt it was probably 50/50 that we get a Not Guilty on one, but we may end up with a guilty on the other. He was very realistic about the entire situation. One of the cases he thought we had slightly a lower chance of being able to achieve an acquittal. He was wonderful, and I was so very happy after it was all over. I trusted him, his advice, and in his team - and it worked out well in the end. I will add I was dismayed generally speaking at how our justice system works, and did my best to tell the Judge of the court and the DA's who did their part in the jury trial how they have the power to absolutely ruin lives...and it is TRUE! Even still, I was thrilled at the result, and in the end - I am glad I just put my faith in Carl and let him do his job. He is clearly passionate about his work and puts a great deal of effort into making sure everything is done right. This happened last year, and it took me some time to write this - but it was because I wanted to make sure I did it justice in comparison to how thankful I am, and the job he did for me. Obviously one hopes they will never need one - but if you find yourself arrested, I would highly recommend Carl and his office. 5 stars ++++

Iwas arrested on June 14, 2017 for allegedly Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) in Plano, TX (Collin County). This caused a whirlwind of emotions for me and I didn’t know how to properly channel it all. I consulted with several attorneys about the matter, and finally came across Carl’s name in Avvo. I decided to call and Sandy was very professional, cordial, and insightful. Even though I had not established a client-attorney relationship with them, they were genuinely worried about me and told me about all the pertinent deadlines that I had to comply with, since my driver’s license was also affected by the arrest. In fact, Carl gave me his cell number and told me that I could text him whenever I liked. He tends to respond pretty quickly to his texts and gave me some good advice. He actually referred me to two other attorneys that I hadn’t talked to, and after meeting with them, I still felt like hiring Carl was the right choice for me. I was only working part-time then and was heading to law school, so Carl not only understood my financial constraints, but also how important it was for me to get this matter resolved. Future lawyers have to fill out a Declaration of Intent and are subject to critical scrutiny and investigation by the State Bar. Also, during my on campus interviews, many firms and potential employers asked me about my criminal background. I do believe that some declined to interview me further because I had this pending on my background. But yet again, as an attorney himself, Carl was able to help me mitigate the effect of this as much as possible, as he coached me on how to answer such questions and what exactly to disclose to both the Bar and my school.
Carl is extremely well educated in forensics, as he has achieved the Forensic-Lawyer designation and regularly receives training (in forensics and gas chromatography) at the prestigious Axion labs up in Chicago. Since I consented to a blood test, this was crucial for me, as I needed an attorney that knew enough about the subject to help me put up a fight in court. This was especially needed for my case, because Collin County courts don’t like to dismiss DWIs since Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is headquartered in Collin County, which is something that Carl’s assistant, Sandy, made clear to me upfront. Carl was very honest with me, giving me the good, the bad, and the ugly of my case, which made me realize that it was probably in my best interest to not only testify myself, but to also hire an expert witness to help me out with my defense. Carl is great at networking, so he had a list of experts ready to go and highly recommended a few to me. The expert was easy to work with and helped me out tremendously in my defense.
We went to trial, where Carl was able to curate a strategy specific to my case and my background that helped me earn an Acquittal, the best result I could have hoped for! After my trial, the jury claimed that Carl was “A Man for the People,” and I 100% agree.

At this point, I no longer look at Carl as my attorney, I see him as a big-brother/mentor type of role model in my life. As someone who will be entering the legal industry soon, Carl has shown me what it takes to succeed and how I should go about carrying myself, handling clients, networking with industry professionals, and interacting with the courts. He’s given me advice on how to handle the stress of 1L exams, how to go about interviewing, what I should do during the summer, and he even offered to help me study for the bar once I graduate from law school. The man is constantly busy and has a personal life of his own, but he will always make time for you. While I hope to never find myself in trouble again, I will definitely keep a relationship with Carl, as he has moved Heaven and Earth for me. Honestly, words cannot express how happy I am with my result, as I feel like I have been given a 2nd chance and that I can start to live life more comfortably now. THANK YOU CARL & SANDY!!!

We didn’t know what to expect with a public defender Of which we opted for regarding ongoing legal matters with our daughter. There are no real words that can describe what kind of attorney/man Carl Ceder is but I’ll try... Carl has worked with me on several cases of mine. Actually he has been my attorney since the very beginning. I went from looking at 5 years prison time to never seeing the inside of prison walls and now being released early from probation. I write this review without reservation for Carl and his wonderful staff...I would have to say with complete honesty if you are looking for an amazing criminal lawyer, who is personable, honest, and easy to talk to and with...and who will also be with you every step of the way, and not give up on you...Carl and his team are the "go-to" to use. Simply put, "just call Carl!!!" He is your guy! Seriously though...he represented my fiance for a DWI case and he went above and beyond for us, and would e-mail and give us updates where we could tell he was tirelessly working for us. My mom and I hired Carl and his law firm when I got into some trouble for doing something stupid. I didn't even know it was illegal, I thought what happened I could get at most a ticket but I was arrested and had to go to court to fight the charge. It was nothing serious, but I had been charged with other serious stuff in my past, but I am trying to move on now with my life. This was a setback. I didn't even know you could be arrested for what they said I did. Anyway, me and my mom hired Carl and his team, even though we did not have a ton of cash to spend on a lawyer, because I am trying to go to school to get my license so I can get a good job in the field I want to work in. Being convicted of this would have made it where I wouldn't be able to do this. Even though I was guilty, and it shouldn't have been taken seriously, we had to go to court several times. But we trusted Carl. When the DA wouldn't budge on what they were offering, he said we should set it for trial. I think he said this because he really felt it was my best option. Well it turns out we didn't have to set it for trial, because how it went, Carl was somehow able to get it reduced back down to where it was just a traffic ticket and I just had to pay court costs. Even the Judge when we finished the case said something like "I don't know how your attorney got you this deal, but he did and you should be shaking his hand." He was right. I shook his hand and I am very happy with the result. I know I've been in trouble before with some things that don't look so great when a DA looks at my past, but I was so much younger then and am trying to lead a productive life now.
