Mrs. Burns was amazing - from the initial meeting throughout the entire case. After i finally decided to leave my husband, I filed in June 2019 and things moved progressively from there. The only hold up was on my side where my (now) ex husband was playing games and avoiding signing the documents. Mrs. Burns presented alternate options and was very patient with me and understanding. She was also very personable. Finally at the end of November 2019, he went ahead and signed them. After that, she worked with my schedule to get me in to finalize the case in court. My case was just finalized last week and I was able to have things on my terms. My husband and I were presented with a difficult situation. We had a grandchild who needed immediate medical attention. We had to get rights to him in order to get him to the doctors he needed. I reviewed 3 to 4 attorneys before choosing Burns and Iwuji.
During my interviews I was quoted a base price and hourly prices along with additional fees. There were no details given as to what was going to take place.
I interviewed with Mr. Iwuji and was quoted an est and given details as to what to expect. He did inform of additional fees if necessary. The price was fair and the service was great.
The case went from being routine to time sensitive due to the nature of the child needs. We had to inform Mr. Iwuji of the deadlines we were given by doctors, school districts, state, and social security. We were stressed and overwhelmed and we had to deal with an absent parent who refused to care for the child.
Mr. Iwuji understood the timeframes and gave est timeframes for completions. We were able to provide the necessary docs to the school districts and was granted some extensions.
We were able to get temporary doc just in time to start care and permanent docs before school started.
We would recommend the law firm for custodianship for children.
