When the check for the proceeds of our home sale had not been wired to our account more than a day and a half after the closing, I called Cooperative Title to investigate. I was put in touch with Raymond Smith, the man in charge. From the moment he took my call, he was hostile and impatient with me. I tried to explain what had happened and he acted like it was my fault. I explained that I had provided a check which gave him complete wiring information, so it couldn't have been faulty instructions on my part. I said I was sure it wasn't his fault either. He came back angrily, "Well whose fault do you think it is?" I have since discovered that almost half a million dollars was sent to the wrong place, a bank that has absolutely no connection to my financial institution (I checked). Thank God they returned it. Mr. Smith refused to wire it again and refused to see about someone meeting me with the check instead of me driving all the way from Mount Pleasant to West Ashley. He also refused to talk with my contact at my financial institution as the easiest way to solve the problem. “Why would I want that? I don’t want that. I’m not going to call there.” There was only one conversation, not multiple.
There was never an explanation, only anger. There was simply no customer service. I was very concerned about where this mid-6-figure check was and how it ended up in the wrong place, but I did nothing to deserve the hostility and impatience he leveled at me. No apology for the inconvenience. No kindness whatsoever. Mr. Smith's contribution to my overall experience was shameful.

Horrible experience!!!!! Unprofessional. Get a different closing attorney-- someone who cares about your affairs and isn't running a factory of closings. They make too many mistakes and DO NOT follow up with their clients!!!!! Not even a little bit of customer service. We are 2 business days post closing and still waiting for funding for the sale of our home. Totally unacceptable!

The closing for my home was smooth, fast and professional, then everything went down hill. After closing, they did not pay the correct insurance company for my required flood policy, causing me to be uninsured on a policy that I paid for during hurricane season. I was understanding of the mistake, as they happen to us all. I was not understanding at the lack of communication and ownership of the error. Emails were not returned promptly, my insurance agent called multiple times a day to no avail. Very disappointing end to a process that started out great- I will avoid this office at all costs in the future.

I have to disagree with the other review 100 percent. Not only did this firm work late hours to help me with my closing but I was very satisfied with their nice employees and the attorney himself. I will definitely do business again as they made the selling of my home effortless. I only wish they did other areas of law.

The most unprofessional and rudest people to deal with. They missed a piece of paperwork and had me overnight it back to them because it was mandatory that this piece of paperwork be in the next day. Two weeks later they email me and tell me that my mortgage is going to expire because I never sent them the paperwork. I finally get in touch with them, only to find out that they did receive the paperwork. (fedex has the record stating they signed for it). It turns out they lost it! So this paper that I had to overnight them--they don't even notice it missing for two weeks when my lender contacts them. So I call them and in the middle of a conversation they hang up on me! This wasn't the first issue I had with them. On the day before closing the paperwork that they had said they had sent our mortgage lender had never even arrived so we couldn't even close on the date we were supposed to close on. This office has no idea what they are doing.
