Fantastic attorney! Just speaks to folks as if he is above them, especially when they don't know the "law." Isn't that the reason people go to him? Yet he is a good lawyer and well worth your money if you can get passed his attitude!

Robert Stites was hands down the best lawyer I have worked with. He was timely, professional, proactive, patient, very knowledgeable, and his no nonsense approach helped speed up the process of my divorce. He and his staff were readily available to answer my questions and responded swiftly. I have had the great honor of Mr. Stites service on 2 occasions. In both instances I needed an absolute relentless advocate. I have two beautiful children as a direct result of his tireless efforts. If you want cupcakes and rainbows, go somewhere else. If you want a good result, do yourself a huge favor and employ Robert.

Mostly I am mad at myself for retaining this person. He came recommended as a rude, tough, but effective attorney. I read these reviews and thought, well it seems about half the people like him okay, had my initial consultation and even though I had a bad feeling, I retained him. He jumped on my case w/ vigor ( I would later learn to run-up his billings) and from that point on, I have not been able to control him. His MO is to be a bully, intimidate and ignore. When I asked him to stop being so aggressive he yelled at me, cussed in fact. And when I asked him to slow-down his fees (e.g. having his $225/hr Associate print materials for him to read?) and to not go into the last third of my retainer w/o my permission, he withdrew from my case ahead of a mediation. I have since found out that opposing counsel and my wife want a settlement - no mention from Robert as he is all about fighting and fees. At this point, he refuses to release me w. the court so I can get new counsel and will not give me back my unused retainer. I have already contacted the State Bar's Office and am doing my best to get new counsel and save my mediation date. So, for goodness sake, think long and hard before signing up with this ape. Caveat Emptor!

Robert is an excellent attoorney. I retained Mr. Stites in August 2013. Due to his tenacity, integrity and knowledge of the Texas Family Code and the associated laws, we were successful in prevailing with our case. While some may consider Mr. Stites as being difficult to work with, I would counter this perception. Mr. Stites uses an approach of continuously challenging his clients on their basis for arguments. Early on, I realized that this approach is his means of helping his clients to identify and clarify the facts of their case and to ready them for the potential of a trial. Mr. Stites does an excellent job of readying his clients and to some extent "hardening" them for the inevitable challenges of the family law process. He is aggressive and an outstanding attorney whom I would highly recommend.
