I selected a lawyer after doing some research online, and then talking to several of them in person (it did not occur to me initially, but I was advised by a friend, and, in hindsight, it is a must do if you have time for it). The charge was evading arrest in a vehicle, which is now a felony.
What attracted me to Nathaniel initially is that he is a former prosecutor. I had a backstory to tell, and I figured that if I can at least convince my own lawyer that I was not evading, then, perhaps, it is possible to convince others as well. Most lawyers gave me a very withdrawn response after hearing a factual description of the case: I will work towards X (the best possible outcome), I will start right away, etc. Nathaniel was the only one who asked me about my own explanations for what happened, and even anticipated some. He was also the only one who brought up immigration implications, which was a concern for me, and had a contact already lined up to address them. With others, I had to bring it up myself. At the same time, he was not implying a positive outcome, explicitly said that he could not guarantee it, and outlined all the possibilities for me, from the best to the worst. So I felt listened to, and not taken advantage of.
Once I selected him he acted very quickly. First, he sent me to an immigration lawyer for consultation, gathered the documents of mitigating circumstances (some of them I did not even think of until he asked). This is to prepare what they call a "packet" presented by the defense to the grand jury. The rest happened behind the scenes for me, but the outcome was a dismissal, the grand jury did not indict. It was the best possible outcome, not at all what I was expecting. I thought it might go all the way to the trial, and was not very optimistic about the prospects. And it was not the "packet" by itself, of course. It is not visible from the outside, but one needs a lot of social and psychological talent to do these sorts of things successfully.
He met with us immediately. He was extremely forward about what could happen in the case my fiance was facing but ensured us that he would do his best. He kept in contact with us almost daily and pulled out every idea that he could think of to help us and the case. It was a tough case as it was a felony if convicted . After a couple of months and facing grand jury , Nathaniel got the case no billed. My fiance got to come home to me and our son. If anything similar ever happens again I will definitely be giving him a call. He is honest, trustworthy and a great lawyer.
My experience with this lawyer was top of the line. Even after my mishaps during my case he stood by me and advised me countless times and stood by his word when we first met, He said I will get this dismissed and here I am today case dismissed. 100% recommend. Side note he is very close friends with prosecutors .
The reason he was so successful is that he gets along really well with the prosecutors. Was creative and knew exactly when to push boundaries and when to wait. I worked hard in getting him everything he asked for and then learned to trust him that he would take care of the rest. And as a high anxiety person who is used to being in control... that wasn't always easy. But he kept me informed. replied extremely quickly when i text or emailed. Was always available for me. I have zero reservations on recommending him to friends or family.
He went above and beyond for me and got results!! He wont make promises that he cant keep, but works hard to get the best outcome. And my case was dismissed. I'm free. My life didn't fall apart. I am extremely grateful. He definitely over delivered. If you are in a similar situation I really recommend him to anyone facing a criminal charge.
I had a clear criminal and was arrested for a embarrassing mistake I made. Nathaniel worked hard for me and was able to get an extraordinary deal where the case will be dismissed. He is hard working and effective. He took the time to understand my case and how to defend me. Anybody in need of a criminal defense lawyer should consider hiring him.
I had never been arrested before, was arrested for a gun offense, and was scared. I did not have much of a defense. Nathaniel guided me through the process every step of the way. He worked hard and knew exactly what the prosecutors would be looking for. He told me what homework I had to do and gathered all the evidence. When he presented my story to the prosecutor, they were very receptive and dismissed my case. I would recommend Nathaniel to anyone looking for criminal defense.
