I chose Mr Schmitt to handle my divorce after finding him online and reading his website.

He offers a flat rate for non contested divorce which is what I thought we were doing. Things got tricky when my ex switched gears from non contested to contested at the last minute. I was stressed out and upset but Mr Schmitt and his staff took care of it and set up mediation which worked out well and we were able to sort things out and finalized the divorce without a court battle.

I felt I was in good hands throughout the process. Mediation went smoothly. Mr Schmitt and I were in one room and my ex and her lawyer in a different room and the mediator goes back and forth. We came to a fair solution and signed an agreement that day.

I put off my divorce for two years because I didn’t want to deal with the stress. Mr Schmitt and his office helped resolve an unpleasant situation as smoothly as possible. He was good at negotiation and helping me feel at ease during the process.

My family puts our trust in the hands of the Schmidt's. They have helped us with child adoption, name change, and estate and will planning. We love them and their caring team and will use them in the future and happy to refer to all our friends.

I have found the Schmidt team to be highly pragmatic, considered, thorough, research-orientated, experienced, available, compassionate, mature and non-dramatic. Mr. Schmidt and Cheryl handled my divorce that started back in June 2017. What a roller coaster ride. This was supposed to be an easy divorce as it was a marriage of a year and a half with no kids and a very little in assets, but my ex-wife did not make it easy. CE Schmidt and Associates is extremely professional, friendly and I highly recommend them. They handled my divorce/custody case about a year ago and made its as painless as possible. I felt confident in their work and ability to answer any questions that I had. They are quick to reply to emails and are honest with their billing along with being affordable. I have since comeback to work with them again, involving violations in my divorce agreement, again they put my mind at ease and worked quickly.

Unless these clients don't care about money I have no idea how this man has more than 1 star reviews. I was initially told that my case, which was very open and close run of the mill uncontested divorce, would be executed with my $5000 retainer. Somehow every single dime was used before we even got to mediation. Then he wanted another $2500 just to do mediation, that's before even drawing up the final decree! Oh, that would be another $750 not including child custody orders. I mean, I literally ran out of money. Here it is a year later, my savings gone, and I still don't have custody papers or a divorce. It was a complete waste of money and 3 months of my life. Once you sign on with him you'll never hear from him again, the receptionist will e-mail you updates but for the love of God don't respond or ever call with questions because each phone call and e-mail is money taken from your retainer. May God have mercy on this man for preying on single mothers with disabled children and robbing them blind.

He tried to get more money from me to opposing counsel after mediation. He went against me in mediation for an agreement to divorce. Got stuck to a divorce to someone i was never married to. Other attorneys i consulted indicated he's extremely lousy - Just in for the money. Beware.
