VERY rude. If you do not have money, he has nothing to offer. he was court appointed. ask for another attorney. Just a mean person with no heartbeat.

On point, professionalism and punctual, driven by the reintegration movement the Harris County is heavily pushing which may mean bad news for the few not interested in government controlled rehabilitation services. Otherwise polite and clearly sharp criminal lawyer.

The day I hired Bret was the Last time I saw him besides every time he wanted money. He cared little about my case and was never available in court, while also sending various representatives in his place. I hired this guy with the confidence of minor case such as mine being dismissed with a few fines and fees. Not only could I have done better with a court appointed lawyer, I also would have not shelved out thousands of dollars to receive the same punishment as if I didn't have one. Ultimately his attitude is very condescending and I genuinely never felt like he cared about me or my case at all. Between two years of constant resets and seeing Bret a handful of times, literally, I wouldn't suggest anyone going to him, especially if your case is simple, involved in fort bend, and your a minority. On a side note I was referred to this firm by a friend with a similar case but to a larger degree. His cases were dismissed and he was white while paying half my fee. Another reminder of what it is like to be black in this country, even your lawyer doesn't take you seriously!

He's great as a lawyer, I don't deny that. Amazing work on my case. But as a person? No thank you. I called him after work at 6 ( I got off late) just to ask a simple legal question maybe I was wrong to assume that asking a QUESTION didn't come with a cost. But here's his response, "Are you gonna hire me for this legal question because I'm not some 24 hour law advisor you can just call".
Again I may have been naive into thinking I had to throw money to ask a question from a person who's job is to represent the people but his resppnse and tone was distasteful. The greed is strong with this one.
Totally reccomend him for his knowledge of the law, if you have a tight wallet and expect some decency? You're in for a rude awakening.

GREAT LAWYER!!! I cant Thank Bret enough for his attention to detail, knowledge of the law, and staying very "on top of things". He had a way of always making me and my husband feel at ease and anytime he said he would call or do something or if I had any concerns or questions he was "On top of it" and following through with what he would tell us. I wouldn't want anyone I cared about or knew to ever use anyone but him.
