Just close to midnight, I got the call…..”is there something you want to tell me?!” “Yes, can we meet in person?” Carrying around guilt and shame weighs you down, steals your joy, manifests in your entire being. As much as I didn’t want this day to come, I was so thankful it was finally here. Facing prison was terrifying to me, as it would be to any person. And although I definitely did not want to be at that point in time, I understood my actions, as an adult, were completely unacceptable. How I wish then and now I could have turned back the clock and made wiser choices. Desperate at 1:00 AM in the morning, I started searching on google and praying God would lead me to the right attorney for my sex offender charge. Well, when we confess and ask the Lord with a sincere heart, He “will” work in our lives. He led me right to Goldstein & Orr, specifically Abasi Major. Mr. Major called me the very next day and met with me over the weekend. He heard the stress in my voice, something I’m sure he was accustomed to hearing from his clients. Mr. Major’s professionalism and “non-judgmental” attitude made me feel comfortable to share my story with him and ask for his help with my case. With Mr. Major’s exceptional expertise, he was able to guide, not only my speech, but also my actions and emotions throughout the entire process which was about two years. He encouraged me to keep going, keep working, keep living your life as you have-like a highly moral and praying individual. So I did. I cannot tell you how challenging it was to live and work, knowing this bomb was about to drop. However, and it might sound strange, but I was very thankful to get this out and move forward-whatever the outcome was going to be. Mr. Major, and his amazing team of experts, were able to collect the necessary information needed to show the court who I truly am. At first, Mr. Major didn’t know me at all, but through this unfortunate process, got to know me as a person and what I stand for. The Lord kept giving me a word…..”FAITH”. So I took that word and researched the bible verses to help give me strength almost daily. I even think Mr. Major may have said that word to me at one or more points throughout this process. As the two years rolled out, I thanked God for the opportunity to be where we were, at the time we were there and the privilege to pray for everyone involved. Even though we didn’t know who our judge would be and all the folks connected to my case, I prayed for all of them. God knew who they were. Mr. Major was able to turn me in, when we found out there was an arrest warrant for me verses getting arrested by the authorities. He was also able to provide me the opportunity to stay in my home vs. being in jail while I awaited trial. And finally and the most important thing was……
Mr. Major was able to get the result we wanted as the outcome of my case-no prison time. Please don’t misunderstand me, probation is going to be TOUGH! However, I am so grateful, that Mr. Major was so well prepared in this type of case and fought to keep me out of prison for a horrific mistake I made years ago. I pray for the victim, victim’s family, my family, our friends and colleagues, my attorney (Mr. Major) and his team, the judges-all of them, and the court staff, all our authority figures (probation officers, jail personnel, medical staff there), the folks who are in the jails and prisons. The list is quite long. But I have so much to be grateful for that I never want to take anyone or anything for granted. I praise God for leading me to Goldstein and Orr. The Lord kept giving me the word “FAITH” throughout this entire time. So I read up on Faith in the bible. James 1:6 But when you ask, you must “believe” and “not doubt”, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. If you are facing a terrifying legal battle, contact Mr. Abasi Major at Goldstein and Orr! He will fight for your rights with the highest level of integrity!

GGH has no equal in Texas or elsewhere. Cynthia Orr and Gerry Goldstein don't just defend their clients, they make law. I've watched them over the years take impossible cases and win. They do it by having an unparalleled command of granular facts, knowing esoteric applications of the law, and by unwavering, dogged persistence. They are also advocates for the Constitution and defendant rights.

Referred a colleague to this firm and they got his case dismissed! He was able to avoid being in some serious trouble for a marijuana-related offense. The lawyers here are spectacular. The staff are very nice and an absolute pleasure to interact with.
