On April 27, 2015 I was involved in a very bad automobile accident on I-95. Thankfully I suffered minimal injury to my body. Unfortunately my car was not so lucky.

After surveying the damage my insurance company decided that the damage to my car was so extensive that they wrote the car off as a "total loss." The insurance company then offered me a settlement of over $5,000 less than what I still owed on the car.

I had purchased my car only a year earlier. It was 2 years old, and I was under the impression that by purchasing it used I was getting it at close to its real value.
