All they want is money!! I don’t understand those good reviews about Carmen Soto. She only contact you for money related otherwise she has her assistant working for her. Stay away from them. If you don’t pay them all before the hearing they will withdraw and drop the case no matter what!!. It is not true the fact that you can pay in several payments They don’t give a S about you as a client . Lourdes is very unprofessional and very rude. They won’t fight for you aggressively enough and they will delay response to motions, or filing motions.

I did not speak with Carmen but her paralegal. I was apprehensive about speaking with a a paralegal and not an attorney although I know paralegals do a lot of case studies for attorneys.She gave me such good advice and made me feel confident about an upcoming hearing. If I have to retain Carmen I would do so just from speaking with the paralegal as she advised me with my matter I didn't even need an attorney! What attorney turns away business?! One that is interested in helping others! I just hope the advice on to get it dismissed works but if not it was explained to me that a separate case would have to be opened anyways closing the one that has been keeping me up at night! I live in NYC and my wife moved to Florida. She did not let me see my son for almost 5 years. I did not know what to do, so I had to fly out to Florida to fight for visitation as well as a divorce.

I came to Carmen Soto’s law office the day after my Ex-Husband had asked for a divorce and they completely calmed my nerves about the whole Divorce process. I paid her over $3000 and even after I told her not to start my case, oh and I have it in email with HER confirming it, and still all she wants is money! They NEVER started my case. I live 900 miles away from Ft. Lauderdale and was served court papers from there in 2011 regarding a domestic order, geography was not in my favor. I was at a loss as I had no family, contacts or associates in Florida who could recommend an attorney for me or even where to begin to find one. My company had a free legal reference service and provided me with Carmen’s number along with a few others. Carmen was my first phone call…and my last. After speaking with her over the phone for almost an hour, I was certain she was the one I could rely on to help me with this. Carmen studied the case and case laws relating to this matter and time and time again represented me as if I was her only client only requiring me to appear in Florida when it was absolutely necessary (about 4 times over the course of 6 years). Carmen’s determination, understanding of the law and tireless efforts through motion after motion resulted in rulings in our favor every time. When those rulings were appealed, Carmen didn’t hesitate to meet them head on and her dogged perseverance resulted in those appeals being dismissed again and again.

After 6 years of this ongoing legal battle, the last of the appeals was dismissed and the case has for now, come to a close. I don’t know what I would have done without Carmen’s representation through this case. Being so far away and fighting a case in South Florida seemed overwhelming, but Carmen proved to me over and over that she was there for me and never ceased to deliver. I can’t imagine hiring a better attorney than Carmen…she is fair, informative, understanding, kind and above all a consummate professional who made me feel like I was her only client.

Ms Soto and her team were always very helpful on my file child custody case. She was always very accessible via phone or email. I always had a million questions and she never made me feel like I was too much or bothersome. She was very understanding and helped make a difficult process bearable.

Let's start off by saying that this is your fair warning, Do not use this firm as my experience was complete injustice. I shopped around and found several other firms for much less but was lead to believe that this was the firm to use at nearly double everyone else's cost....I was given the run around on what was going to be done on my behalf several times. I chose this woman because of the reviews she received but obviously they were not correct and far off in my case as you can tell. After having the free consultation and believing all these ways she would help me in getting a divorce which she ADVISED me I ended up in a worse situation than I had started. Instead of using the money I gave her as a retainer I could of used it to pay my rent and to take care of my children ect.... I Ended up having to give my children back to their father, because I had no money left to care for them after two months of her PROMISING EMERGENCY FUNDS soon, that absolutely never happened, she gauranteed my husband would get served papers which I thought was why I paid her the 4200 dollars along with emergency funds. I trusted in her word, After 2 months of her service rendered He was never even served with papers and I was being evicted from my home, I trusted her and gave her all the money I had, my whole income tax check. $4,200 retainer only to receive $1100 returned to me after I withdrew from her service because nothing was done! She basically left me to dry. I felt I was treated Unfair and taken advantage of at a difficult time. Also she charged me a half hour of my money for a email which I only stated that "I have no money please Help"
I could keep going on and on but It is what it is and let's just say I learn my lesson 35 years old and I am still with my husband by the way. Not enough money to even get a divorce. And I'm glad actually in one way because me and my husband are happy again but besides that she Was no help to me at all and there are too many attorneys in that town to choose from. Good luck to anybody who uses her. I have no clue why her reviews were so high!!!!

I highly recommend Carmen Soto and her team! I had to file for bankruptcy and I was so scared and ashamed. I searched for days looking for an attorney and I came across Carmen Soto's page..
