Our experience with my husband’s desire to become a US citizen after living in the US for over 35 years is as follows:
Someone in his doctor’s office offered to fill out his application so that he would qualify for a waiver of the application fee. That was good except that this person did not really know the USCIS requirements for an application. At the doctor’s office, they told him that he could take the test in Spanish and just to study the 20 questions. My 76 year old hubby was delighted! After waiting a year, my hubby received his interview appointment.
He failed the test because he was given questions from the 100 available questions (80 of which, he was entirely unprepared for). He was completely rattled and thinking that he had been unfairly treated by USCIS, he began to look for an attorney to represent him and accompany him to his second chance appointment. We interviewed several attorneys. Ms Villalon was the third one we met. Our first impression of her was that she was calm and exuded confidence in the knowledge of her field. I was especially happy that she seemed to calm him down.
In our meeting with Ms Villalon, she went through his application in detail, figured out where the answers were originally answered incorrectly and discovered that the doctor’s office had filled out the application 20 days before my hubby would have really qualified for taking the 20 question test! With the second visit she refused my case on my process to get my residence because she had lack of acknowledge of my situation, even she sent me to investigate on google and my husband sent her evidence that my situation might be not a problem to get my residence. She told me anyways that it was a big inconvenience and my residence gonna be denied, that made me feel very worried and depressed from the words and rejection from Ana. After she walked us out from her office she said she would help us to fill out the immigration form that I was missing, that was the last time I heard from her, I called multiple times for help, she said she was gonna help me, she ignored my calls.
