Extremely disappointed in the customer service we received from this firm. Called for a consult on Wed May 16. Scheduled a 15-20 min call with someone who would take the details of our case and forward to the attorney that same evening. The woman who took our information was VERY unprofessional, abrupt and condescending on the phone leaving us feeling even worse. She told us the attorney would call us within 72 hours to discuss. Yesterday, May 29th, 13 days later we called back to find out status and was told we would receive a call by end of business today with further information from a supervisor. The supervisor called and told us they wouldn't take our case. No explanation as to why or consideration for our situation. No referral to an attorney who may be better suited to take on such a large employer or suggestion of how we could retain assistance. Just a flat no. I understand that this case might not be for this firm but why make us wait 14 days to tell us they wouldn't take our case? Especially when we have a very important deadline of June 6 to retain council. The good news is we have a union representative, a shop steward and former supervisor who have all advised to get an attorney and have referred us to an attorney who will moat likely take on this case since the union and HR have offered to assist because the treatment my significant other has received is so unacceptable and illegal. It's very unfortunate that HKM came so highly recommended in the Seattle area to the point we waited longer than the timeframe they gave us and we were treated so poorly. I would not recommend this firm to anyone. Especially someone who is already going through a tremendous amount of stress being mistreated by their employer.

I approached this firm in early August, with a large case seeking counsel. I did not receive a reply back until I had to call them almost a month later. The staff told me that they indeed sent a letter to my designated email, and if I'd like, they could re-send it. I asked them to, as well as CC'ing another email handle in case of a spam filter.

I received the email to both handles. The email simply said they could not represent me on this case. From the recent reviews, it seems like this is an increasing trend.

My issues are not with the lawyers themselves as I never ended up using them for my case. A few years ago I needed to find an attorney for what I suspected was a wrongful discharge. I’ve never hired an attorney for this kind of situation so I simply did an internet search and contacted HKM Employment Attorneys. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with an HKM attorney. He asked me to email some correspondence between the employer and myself. He drafted legal documents to the employer and prior to sending, he forwarded a copy to me for review.
