Three words can only describe our overall experience with Steward and Sheridan. 1.Horrible 2.Horrible 3.Horrible
It is clear to my family Steward and Sheridan have lost sight of the fact they are a customer facing business and “customer service” should be a routine part of their business. But it is not.
Almost 1 ½ years after the passing of our parents we finally completed the closure of their trusts. Throughout this lengthy and exasperating time Steward and Sheridan, and their support staff, became less communicative, less open, less responsive and less transparent on closing the estate. This lack of communication required us to frequently take the initiative to request meetings, telephone calls and feedback regarding the status of the trust. As the process dragged on, we asked for updates and/or feedback and at that time we were told this would take up more of their time and thus lead to additional costs.
Our family estate was not large and in my opinion (and per feedback from other trust attorneys), this small estate should have been completed within three months of the passing of our parents. After the estate was finally closed, (1.5 years later), while going through paperwork in my parent’s home my siblings and I discovered three life insurance policies which had previously been moved into the trust. Not one of these insurance companies had been notified the client was deceased. Once again, Steward and Sheridan, who moved the policies into the trust in the first place, did not pursue insurance policy payouts, nor did they complete the job they were entrusted to do. Once again, horrible. All we would say is if you are considering Steward and Sheridan – “is buyer beware”. Search the market for other local attorneys who provide similar services and check customer feedback and reviews from those who have used both service providers.
Rest assured, based on our personal feelings and experiences, no member of our family would ever use or recommend the services of Steward and Sheridan.

These attorneys and their paralegal, Diana, have been working on my father's estate since September. It is now the middle of February. I have had virtually zero communication from them. I have phoned and left countless messages for Diana. No return phone calls. Diana directly lied to me regarding my father's life insurance policy claim. Said she filed the claim and was waiting to hear back from the insurance company. From Sept.-December. On December 1st I called and demanded the contact info for the company. I called them. They had not ever had a claim filed on our behalf. They took my claim information, filed it and had it processed and paid in 2 weeks.
I have no idea the status of our small probate claim or if it's even been filed. Haven't heard from Diana since I called her on December 1st about the life insurance. Today is February 18th.
My father had a trust & his will and estate plan done through this firm and they have been abysmal to work with. This should've been very easy for them as they set up the estate plan and had all the information.
I called twice today for Diana or Angela. No call back. The receptionist who answered the phone was incredibly rude to me when I stated I believe they're not working on this case. She said, in a snarky manner, "you assume they're not." I said, I wouldn't know one way or the other. I haven't heard from anyone in months despite my repeated voicemails & messages. She took another message.
I will NEVER use this firm for ANYTHING again.
PS I have gotten a few letters concerning their bills and fees. I paid thousands in retainers and have received zero accounting for how much has been used of the retainer fees, etc. My guess is that they haven't used ANY of it because I don't believe they're doing anything. This is one of the WORST law firms I have ever dealt with!
