I should have written this review two years ago when I filed chapter 13 bankruptcy with Cain and Scott but better late than never. In 2016 I found myself in financial difficulties which I was not able to get myself out of. I made a few calls to local bankruptcy firms and was not pleased to find out they wanted $3000 to file. Seriously where does someone get that money who needs to file bankruptcy? Then I found Cain and Scott. Wes Scott was the easiest lawyer to talk to from my experience. I was also given different advice than previous bankruptcy attorneys which saved me more money. Also the entire fee was worked into my chapter 13 plan. I only paid filing fees. After the bankruptcy was filed and my monthly plan was in place any questions I had for him were quickly answered. Please save yourself future headaches and go with Cain and Scott you will not be disappointed.

I shopped around for my Chapter 13 filing and there was no shortage of options. I met with a few law firms but Kain & Scott was the only one offering the service without paying some of the attorney fees upfront. I would only pay for the $300 court filing and $25 for a state required course. I was interested but a little skeptical and concerned about how this lack of payment could translate in the quality of service I would receive. I had a highly informative meeting with Wes Scott and while I knew I needed to file CH 13 (instead of 7 or 11), he explained to me in detail how everything was going to proceed and convinced me that the quality of service I would receive was not in any way connected to the lack of upfront attorney fees. What I was eventually sold on was that I found Wes to be a very happy people-person unlike other firms' attorneys. Clearly, he loves what he does and that is probably an overlooked quality when choosing a bankruptcy attorney. I probably interrupted his day 6 or 7 times with questions over the following couple of weeks before the filing actually occurred but he was incredibly receptive to all my questions and I felt great after every call. After the filing, he was still available and while some things were handed off to assistants, it didn't change the quality of customer service one bit. I've been often sent to Sonja Q for post-filing matters who has answered or handled everything immediately. My particular situation has required me to have more contact with the firm after the filing, so I'm happy I chose these great people who love their job and who treat me with great respect and top notch customer service. I forgot that I only initially met with them to avoid paying $1,500+ upfront.
