Philbrook barely represented me in a DUI charge that involved several incorrect procedures by the arresting officer, proof of which I investigated on my own and presented to Philbrook. Even after he reluctantly interviewed the officer and caught him out in lies about the arrest, Philbrook refused to take the case to trial and instead "advised" me to take a reduced plea.

After I paid $2,000 of his $3,200 fee, I fell behind while changing jobs, and Philbrook turned my account over to a collection agency for the full amount. Is that an ethics violation? After presenting proof of my earlier payments and paying the rest of the balance to the collector, I asked Philbrook to remove the collection from my credit, but he refused, sending me an insulting email.

I did the research. He used his license to take my money, tried to charge me twice, and refused to acknowledge that I caught up. There are other DUI sharks; find one.

The quit representing my daughter 5 months before her 2 year deadline. Very unprofessional!

So...almost two years ago my pug and I were hit straight on T to my driver door by someone who was accelerating at impact. Our experience with Matt and Alison was perfect. Our case in 2016 was suppose to be an easy speeding ticket but due to timing of our ticket combined with changes in ruling, our case took a few months to become dismissed. Through it all, Alison kept me updated and answered all my questions. Fast forward to 2017, not wanting to trouble us due to a reverse in court ruling that affected our case, Matt went to court for us, got the fine lowered, and paid for the fees for us without our knowledge. The only way we found out that situation happened was a ticket that came from the court that came after he had paid.. He didn't write to us to tell us how awesome he is, he just did his job and took the extra nice step to pay for the fees. How often does that happen?? Never!! We offered to reimburse but was kindly declined. I would not hesitate to use Matt and Alison again but hopefully we won't have to do that because we've learned out lesson on speeding on I-5 close to Oregon.
