I sought representation from Benjamin Rosenthal’s law office regarding a Motor Vehicle Accident that I was injured in and 2 Civil Right Claims that I filed with the Bureau of Labor and Industries against the St. Helen's Auto Center.
Mr. Rosenthal decided not to take my MVA claim, but did agree to represent me on a contingency relationship on my Civil Rights Claims with BOLI. I signed the Attorney Fee Agreement and Explanation thereof on March 30, 2018 and emailed it back to his firm. I told his assistant that she had referred to NAPA as my employer, but it is Par Auto Group, DBA St. Helens Auto Center, St Helens Ford, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram are the ones who eliminated my position after only 5 months. Napa is the job that I left of 14 years to take a position with the Auto Center as a cashier/receptionist.
Their emailed reply: “My apologies, thank you for the clarification
Bens assistant emailed me again. “Have you received anything further from GEICO? I have not received a response to our representation letter.”
I responded back. “ Sorry, I don’t know what you are talking about.”
Their response: “We have another client whose address also begins with raw and my autofill added your address instead. I’d be wondering the same thing. Sorry about that.”
There were 4 separate occasions I emailed this firm to ask a question and never received a response back.
The copy of the BOLI file was 106 pages that they sent me, but the last 6 pages weren’t mine.
They received my BOLI file on October 5, 2018
I emailed Bens firm my response on October 14, 2018
I emailed Bens firm re: claim status on October 26, 2018
I emailed Bens firm re: claim status on November 2, 2018
Ben emailed me back on November 2, 2018 and told me he would draft the complaint on my behalf with me paying the filing fee...but, he will not represent me in the matter further, based on a contingency relationship and that I will have to find alternate counsel after my filing. THE FILING DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 14, 2018. He did not respond to my email requesting the dollar amount to file until the day before the filing date.
By signing an agreement I placed him in complete charge of my case. The only thing his firm did was send a Letter to BOLI acknowledging he was my attorney, and sent in the money order I mailed for my Boli file.
He never asked questions, or spoke to my witness. He never inquired into my case by calling the investigator. He did not represent me at all. He said that he would let BOLI handle the investigation and yet they did no investigation.
I should have received adequate notice and an opportunity to find a new lawyer before withdrawing from my case. I do not feel that 6 working days before my filing deadline is adequate notice.
I will not refer anyone to this law firm!
The company put forward a unified front that was too difficult for my Union to resolve. Ben stepped in and took their story apart, piece by piece.
He always believed me and told me to stick to the truth, and things would work themselves out.
He was right!
He’s a top shelf attorney!
Mr. Rosenthal is definitely the most trustworthy attorney I've ever met. Ben is a straight shooter, never sugarcoating anything, and will tell you like it is, good or bad.
Ben has worked on several cases for me and I've been fortunate enough to have every case end with favorable results.
I would certainly recommend Mr. Rosenthal to anyone in need of an attorney who knows what they are doing.
