I was looking up a lawyer for an insurance claim and his firm was the first suggestion. After going to his website there were many areas that claimed that they handle the type of claim I needed a lawyer for. I called the number and the first woman I spoke with told me that they don’t so I pointed out that the website says that they do she responded with a snobbish attitude that I can call the Oregon Bar and quickly hung up with me. Feeling dismissed, I decided to check the website a little more thoroughly and it does in fact say that they do. I called back and spoke with a different woman who connected me with their paralegal, she also said that they don’t handle those type of claims and recommended a lawyer for me. You shouldn’t advertise that you handle claims that you in fact don’t. I was out running on a road above Portland's Forest Park, Skyline Drive. I choose to to stay off roads, would rather run trails. I was running against traffic coming at me for a best view for a short distance back to my car, about 3/4 of a mile. From the first day I met Marc I knew he was the attorney for me. He was easy to talk to and confident. Marc defended me when I was T-boned in my car by another driver. I was hit by a driver who ran a red light in Salem, Oregon while I was pregnant and with my 2 year old son in the car, which was completely totaled. I had to wait 7 months to get an MRI (because of the pregnancy) and found out I had a torn disc and joint damage in my lower back. My insurance company was constantly dragging its feet on paying claims for a certain doctor that it had indicated it would cover, but worse, was sometimes paying for certain claims, sometimes not at all, sometimes paying a small portion – all regarding identical visits.

When the company finally asked both my doctor and me to repay several thousand dollars for some (but not all) visits in 2012, I hired Marc, the only local attorney I discovered who seemed to specialize in insurance claims/denials.

In 2009, I was rear-ended by another driver while stopped at an intersection. As a result of the collision, I had to endure a multitude of treatments including months of physical therapy, injections, a shoulder surgery and two neck surgeries . Knowing I would need help in recovering property losses as well as long-term care costs, I sought out a general attorney for legal help. After a couple of years, this attorney was eager to settle my case through mediation (he was relying very heavily on the medical opinions put forth by the defendant’s doctors). I felt it was a less than favorable amount and wasn't worth all of the agony I had endured. At that time, I began to seek new counsel. After many phone calls, I was referred to Marc Johnston.
