Andrew Brockway is an amazing lawyer always looking out for his clients and making sure they are taken care of

I retained Andrew, for a Family Court matter. Two weeks later we had a court date. He showed up unprepared , And confused as to the matter we were there for. he had copys of all documents that the court had sent me for the court date. So this should not of been the case.
He requested an adjournment , to prepare a modification. Basically to get him off the hook for being unprepared.
Before this next court date he asked me to set up a phone conference with him to discuss the case. First appointment was set and it was a no call from him on that day.
I called his office , He wasn’t in the office, they could not tell me when he would be back. They Allowed me to set another date for this phone conference. And again on that date he was a no call and not in the office. So you can probably understand my frustration when he showed up to the next court date unprepared again. He had not prepared anything for the modification he asked for the adjournment for
The money I paid him was a complete waste. I got zero legal advice, And zero legal representation from him.

After my initial review of him was posted on google he reached out to try to think make things right in exchange for me changing this review.
But things only got worse, almost as if he was doing this intentionally. He always showed up unprepared.

He failed to provide the opposing party the documents they requested, documents I provided him within 24 hours of the request. This got 2 court dates Adjourned. This was very frustrating considering both of these dates I took time off from work and traveled to Plattsburgh as I live out of state.
Even more frustrating was the fact he couldn’t even be bothered to reach out to the opposing counsel before the second court date to verify they received the documents requested. Of course they hadn’t. And he had not way to prove they did as he emailed them.
Personally I think professionally things like this should be delivered through the mail with signature confirmation.

For one of our court dates I'm waiting in the lobby and he is with another client. He notices me sitting there looks at me and asked do we have court today?
Yes we do in 10 min I replied. Again he was not prepared.

He didn’t provide evidence I gave him supporting my claims. Obviously we were ruled against because he failed to provide the evidence i gave him.

And what I think it’s highly unethical
He made an agreement with the opposing counsel to exclude a substantial amount of an income from the calculations. Based on a document they submitted to him which he never showed me
I do not believe he even attempted to verify it was accurate.
He never discussed this with me prior to our court hearing. I would not have agreed to this.
I only found about out about it During the hearing. When he agreed to exclude that income.

I have waited several months since the dust settled with my case to update this review.
I am not disgruntled or mad in anyway
I am disappointed

I am in the process of filing a bar complaint
Against this attorney.

I looked up a family lawyer in the winter of 2016/2017. Andrew Brockway’s name was the first to pop up. I just wanted some questions answered about private adoption and agency adoption. He answered everything I had plus provided information to questions I had not even thought of. Since then, we have adopted one time and hopefully more in the future. Andrew did our first and will continue to do any more that we have. He is always available to answer questions and if he is not at that time because he is in court, his staff can try and help. Absolutely would and have recommended Andrew to anyone that needs a lawyer. He is passionate about his job and is knowledgeable in his field.

Horrible lawyer. Very poor communication. Wouldn’t provide documents when asked. Didn’t take the time to verify documents were written correctly. Wouldn’t give any legal advice when asked. Wouldn’t explain processes and procedures when asked. Made many very poor decisions such as giving up all negotiating leverage by lying and claiming attorney client confidence then using the information gained to sabotage my case. Then asking the opposing party for mercy. (Which didn’t happen). Failed to secure information that would have helped my case. I learned if Andrew wouldn’t write something down he is lying about it.
Thanks to Andrew Brockway my attorney bills keep piling up to fix all his mistakes.
He is a cheap lawyer however he cost me ten times what I paid him. I’d like to say you get what you pay for but in this case I paid for representation that could not have been worse if he didn’t show up.
Don’t make my mistake and find out too late that your attorney lead you down the wrong path.

Horrible lawyer! Quoted me one price and then doubled the amount he first quoted. He cost me thousands. He got the names wrong that were written on a statement. I mean he butchered them. It wasn't even the same names that were written down. Must have never have read it before the trial began. Failed to include other evidence that he had in his possession but lied about never receiving them. Grilled me like he was prosecuting me and working for the other client. The man wasn't prepared at all. I could have done a better job myself. If you're looking for an unprofessional, chain smoking, slime ball, greedy lawyer, that will piss off the judge, this is the guy to see. Don't waste your time and money on this inept human being!
