Emily not only provided me with excellent legal representation from start to finish; she also was instrumental with helping me find my voice and confidence following a difficult divorce. When I hired Emily, she was open and honest about her approach, delivered the facts, fought hard for me, was patient with me and helped me to understand my rights. She took time to answer my questions and settle my fears. A courtroom can be intimidating and with her by my side, I always felt I was in good hands. Her representation made all the difference for the end result where we "won" a long battle.
She was also conscious of fees and never over-charged.

The last 6 years have been some of the roughest years of my life. My ex wife didn’t just try to take my daughter from me, she tried to destroy my character and take everything I worked for in my life. Facing some impossible no win situations and having fired my last lawyer, I found Emily Cooper online. Her work along with her associate Whitney Sevaila knocked down child support to a reasonable amount and came out on top when my ex was preventing me from having unaccompanied minor status and I got the most parenting time possible. Trust is a hard thing for me. Trusting these two to fight battles with the courts that seemed to only favor the mom was difficult. All I can say is trust her, make your payments every month and in the end you will win. Thanks Emily and Whitney for putting up with my endless questions, attitude and bs. You guys are the best at what you do.

The positive- she is very affordable based on income.. However, if given the chance again I would hire someone else. She was not prepared in court (I had to actually remind her there was a DANCO-it was like she showed up without even reading my file), and was TERRIBILE with communication. Not a people person. Gave me conflicting/incorrect information a few different times. Many mistakes on my paperwork. I had to do many things myself, or she put stuff off for months-she missed deadlines. Doesn't call you back. The person who referred me to her said "she really sucks but shes cheap" lol
For follow up problems/appearances, I have used David Cox in Otsego and LOVED him- and he also was flexible with payment options! Bottom line- I used Emily because I didn't realize I could afford a better attorney- If I knew others also had payment options, I would have used anyone else! She was absolutely awful!

Great people to get help from. They will do EVERYTHING they can to get you EVERYTHING you deserve.

Working with Emily was a disaster. She did not spend the proper amount of time reviewing my case, she missed important deadlines and when I tried to call her to follow up or remind her of the deadlines she was off on vacation (this happened 3 times). I was told once that she was out sick but then saw on her Facebook that is was actually on vacation.
In the end I got screwed as she was not prepared for a court case and I had to settle with my ex, agreeing to his terms.
Her paralegal had great communication so I explained to her why I was withdrawing from the representation agreement. Then I got a e-mail from Emily saying she was offended.
Well if you just would have done your job we both would have had a better outcome.
