I hired Tony Ross to represent me in my DWI case. Unfortunately the process took over 2 years to finally be dispositioned, but overall was incredibly worth it as he got a non-guilty verdict for me after a jury trial. His services are expensive, but if you’ve ever talked to anyone about this type of charge then you know you’ll be spending a pretty penny throughout the process. He saved me thousands in the end because I do not have to pay any surcharges (3,000 for DWI), court fees, or probation fees. On top of that I got a DWI conviction off of my record and now I can go back to school for a second degree! When I got arrested I knew this was going to be tough to beat just because I was so honest with the officers... Tony gave me a low chance to win because I had given the state so much evidence to use against me but he came through and made it happen! It may have helped also that I did not blow or give blood. Attorney Ross was terrible representation for my daughter in a DWI case. I talked to another attorney in Dallas and they told me that had I hired them instead of Ross, she would currently be serving on probation. The only thing he cares about is himself and coming in the office at 1pm everyday. He prides himself on being the best in town but he really shows favoritism to some clients and has not adequately represented my daughter. I do not recommend him, whatsoever.

Tony (John) Ross was extremely committed and professional with how he dedicated himself to my case. My charge was aggravated felony assault with bodily injury. When you’re looking at 2 to 20 years in prison you can’t make a mistake choosing legal counsel. I spent 36 days in jail and went through 3 different lawyer before getting out of jail. Bad advice from legal counsel put me in jail and had my bond set at $200,000 and I was considered a flight risk. I’m an educated man who has traveled across the US, Central America and done time in the military but I’ve never seen anything that compares to some of what happened to me at the hands of poor legal counsel. Once I was out of jail I looked for and interviewed multiple lawyers, trying to find the one that was truly a good fit for me and was going to fight for me. Tony sat with me listening intently as I told him the situation I was in and how everything had transpired. When I was done Tony went through my story, asking question and piecing everything together from a legal stand point. Tony told me he would represent me but he wanted me to be comfortable with him and how he approaches things. Tony didn’t tell me “Hey I can get you off” and “You’re going to beat this”. He told me I had a serious charge and it was an uphill battle but, from what I had said, it sounded like a self-defense situation. Tony doesn’t promise you the world, take your money then leave you hanging. He supports you and puts your mind at ease as you go through the process. The best offer I had after 2 years was 8 years in prison. After 2 years of going through the process losing my job, when I was in jail, then getting a better job with another company, the trial finally came. After watching Tony in the court room and how he conducts himself, I knew I had chosen the right “Lawyer”. Tony is calm, under control, intelligent, processes information quickly, pays attention to details and asks follow up questions when he knows the truth is not being told. If you’re looking for courtroom theatrics, Tony’s not the person for you. Regardless of the prosecutor’s demeanor and emotions Tony remains clam and professional. After a 3 day trial it all ended with a hopelessly hung jury at 7 to 5. After interviewing the jury it was found that the jury did not think the “victim” and his witness were believable. The jury attributed this to the questioning and how Tony had took apart their stories. These were not 2 guys with criminal records either. Bear in mind I never denied sticking this individual nor defending myself with zero witnesses to corroborate my story. In the end the prosecution offered 8 years differed probation, community service. In 250 cases seen by this judge he had never had a jury deliberate for 10 hours and come back hopelessly hung in a case like this. I attribute all of the positive thing that happened in my case over 2 years, to “My Lawyer” Tony Ross.
1. My ability to walk away with an admission of non-guilt. No contest
2. My 8 year differed probation. community service with no felony and absolutely nothing on my records

Mr. Ross is very resourceful. He's best when you can bring the best of "you" to him... It's not rocket science. Depending on a firm is not as effective as working with the firm. Denton County is very difficult to navigate. You'll find that "smarts" is a collaborative effort. I believe he's a good man and a competent counsellor. We accomplished what we set out to do.

Was not happy with his work, however I had already paid him, and as he thinks he got a good deal? I got as much out of him as possible so I had no choice but to take the deal. However he did not bring out the many screw up from the police, the case could have been dropped if these things were pushed and brought up in my opinion.
And i have him a negative review, and received an email from him that said if I did not not remove the review I would be sued.
I have a screenshot of the email which I am keeping for higher authorities.
When I went to court the first time he didn't even have the paperwork right and was not what we had agreed on, which tells me he didn't really know my case very well. I would never higher him again.

During summer 2016, I was unknowingly involved in a minor traffic accident in a small city in Denton county. Long story, but the short version is the police were hassling me and proposing to press charges for leaving the scene of an accident, despite the fact I was unaware of the minor impact at the time. Only after I arrived home did I find the very minor damage to my vehicle. After making a few phone calls to various Denton-county attorneys to inquire on my rights and "next best moves", I found Tony, he agreed to meet with me the following morning briefly. During my visit to his office, he gave me very useful counsel and advice for 10-15 minutes, told me there was nothing to be that concerned about based on the facts I gave him, and to contact him if the police indeed pressed charges or wanted to pursue it or interview me further. Tony charged me nothing for his counsel. It turns out in fact he was correct. There were no charges filed. Tony taking 10 minutes out of his day to calm my fears was very much appreciated, and I will never forget it. Thank you Tony.

Its hard when you get in trouble with the law and don't know which attorney to choose. I was there 1 year ago when I got a DWI in Denton county. Stress and fear of the issue at hand and trying to decide which attorney is going to give you the vigorous defense you deserve is daunting, not to mention expensive. Choosing the wrong attorney will make a difference for the rest of your life and it's scary knowing others have so much control over your future, I know first hand. I hired a heavily advertised firm thinking they sounded great and they would vigorously defend me when they told me "we take everything to trial". I WAS WRONG, -boy was I WRONG! I spent months in fear that this firm was not acting in my best interest, and on many occasions never responding to my questions and then sometimes being downright mean to me when I did choose to go to trial, telling me how I would lose my job, go to jail, etc. It was torture, I did not want to take the plea bargains offered to me, I wanted to go to trial because I was innocent. They made me live in fear for months, and this is the truth. All the while they were hounding me to pay the balance, and I only owed $300.00 of thousands I paid them for this "representation" (torture) They said "ok we'll go to trial" but you're being reckless and irresponsible and not doing the smart thing, etc. so we were scheduled for trial while they continued to try and "fear" me into taking what they called good offers, and then FINAL offers from the DA. I want you to know they sent attorney that I never met(when they finally showed up to court on dates I was to meet them there) who was rude, and told me how I was going to lose if I went to trial, etc. Anyway, I paid them in full and on the day I was supposed to go to trial since they had since filed a continuance and I was off of work, I went to attorney John Ross and explained exactly what I had been going through and asked if he would take my case. He agreed and not only did he agree, he was amazingly calm, confident and discussed my case with me as if I were actually a normal human being and showed me respect. Although this should be the normal treatment between attorney and client, it certainly was NOT what I had experienced for almost a year prior by my other attorneys. It was 3-4 weeks until trial, when I went to visit Mr. Ross and he agreed to take my case and was very fair with the fee and also with giving me time to get that to him even though there was no time to spare for my trial which was right around the corner. Mr. Ross also answered EVERY single one of my questions and did not talk down to me like the shysters I mistakenly hired prior to him.
