As a single mother, I was very overwhelmed by family court. I began the paperwork for the RFO process, studied proper protocols online and met with the family law facilitators to try to feel more confident in the process. Though, I still stayed up most nights worrying about not covering all basis and regrets. There were times when I tried to just come to an agreement to avoid court, but the other party was unwilling to negotiate custody or co parent respectfully.
