Without question i’d recommend Obi Legal Group! Joy goes above and beyond for her clients. You can tell she is very passionate and will make sure you receive the justice you’re seeking. I was amazed by the constant communication and effort to rectify my situation. It’s as if she cared more about my case than myself. This is the type of lawyer you’d want on your side and I’m so glad I chose her.

Obi Legal Group literally saved my life! I thought I was going to lose my case but Joy definitely redirected that route. So glad I found her at the last minute! I felt like I had a friend the whole way through. She wholly listened to my case and reassured me by simply relating to my feelings which made her all the more personable. Joy is very good at explaining things in layman terminology. You can really feel lost and confused when dealing with legal matters and the court system but she made sure I fully understood what was going on and answered the numerous questions I had. She represented me so well. I felt like together as a team we were able to defeat all odds against me in the court room. I would say Joy is definitely the best around if you need an attorney for ANY trust me!

If it was possible to give zero stars, that’s what this business deserves. She scammed my husband and charged him for mistakes she made, among other things. It is also strange that all the reviews she gets are either a one star or 5 star. Is someone padding their reviews? Are you going to get your friends to give you 5 stars after this review? Because that seems like what is happening here. Do not believe the 4 star review. Take your hard earned money elsewhere.

THESE ARE A BUNCH OF SCAM ARTISTS!! Joy is very unprofessional. All fees have been paid and documents sent but for almost 2 years Joy and her team has been passing this case down and giving minimal info. We hire another attorney only to find out that the case is dismissed and has been for some time now. You would think they would share that with their client but instead they’re consistently lying and trying to get more money for a case that was already dismissed. I will never deal with, refer or have anything positive to say about this company. I fault myself from trying to support a sister when she was only trying to support her pockets and did NOTHING that she agreed to do years ago.

Joy is very professional, she is amazing and super smart. Definitely recommend her if you need a lawyer that will work overtime to win your case.

I really wish I could post a success story like everyone else, but I can’t. This woman is the most fraudulent lawyer I have ever seen. I paid her in full and she hasn’t delivered on anything concerning my case. She hasn’t filed any paperwork since April...it is now September and my divorce still isn’t final. I’m waiting on paperwork to receive money and a vehicle that I was awarded and nothing. My children and I are depending on this woman so that we can move and have somewhere of of our own, but she chooses to take trips and have wig parties instead of helping her clients. Don’t waste your money nor time. Joy Obiselu isn’t worth the time or aggravation. She has breached our contract by not returning calls or emails, no official billing, or updates. She’s not even decent enough to face me. She really should be disbarred.

I was referred to Ms.Joy from a friend who had previously used her for another case. I had a pending child custody case and risked losing my kids to their dad. I will admit, I was a little hesitant hiring her based on the one star reviews but went ahead with my gut and paid her retainer. Safe to say, my ex's request to have the kids live with him was denied by the judge and I got everything that I wanted. The whole process of going through a child custody case isn't easy but Ms. Joy stayed on top of me every step of the way no matter what my baby daddy and his attorney pulled. I have no complaints about her service and will use her again.

Great experience. Finalized my case today and couldn't be happier. Have referred two other colleagues to Ms. Obiselu and so far they have been pleased with her work.

Dealt with Ms Obi for a year to get a divorce in which I never got through her. I ended up having to hire another lawyer because Obi kept giving me the run-around. She never took my case seriously. I emailed her in several occasions as it related to the case. I was almost at my dismissal dare because of her. She will rush and take your money but no rush in providing good service. Very unprofessional. Do not use she will take your money and not help you.

Stay away from Joy Obiselu and her sham law firm if you want a good outcome for your case. She is unethical and unprofessional and unstable. I had to terminate my contract with her because of the following reasons:

1. Her work products are full of errors. She drafted my filings and addressed it to the wrong county court. I found this out when she provided the documents to me for signature. Knowing this, I asked that before any document gets filed with the court, I wanted to review it first. This decision saved me alot of trouble. In one instance, she was going to provide the process server with citation to serve other party, while reviewing this; I found out a very obvious error, she had someone else's citation! what would have been the implication if I didn`t catch this error?

2. Good luck asking her to return your call. If you try emailing her, she will be sure to charge you for reading your email to ask her to call you. She would charge you for informing her of her errors and to correct it.

3. To incur additional fees, she would not clearly explain a plan of action to you and file things that are not necessary without your knowledge. I have had to tell to withdraw a filing that was necessary.

4. She is a fraud; I fired her half way through the process because I couldn’t trust her to continue the case. She refused to return the rest of my funds citing that they went into her reading emails from me, revising errors that I found in her work products and also spending 10 hours searching for a process server.

She is unprofessional, unethical, and a bad news. Do not patronize her. It will be a waste of your time and money. I have hired a new lawyer and starting from square one; time and money wasted. Spare yourself the heart ache

Update: I left a honest review of my experience with this attorney about one hour ago and coincidentally, 10 minutes after that, five people have come on this thread to give a 5 star review of how great a lawyer she is to boost her ratings. The other negative review left by another client was done 3 months ago, coincidentally, several people came on here the same time to give her a positive reviews. Go figure.

@Ebony Thomas...my experience with yours is exactly identical. It is beyond me why this firm is still in existence. Wait till you see the enablers come out of the woodwork to give glowing reviews to try to bump her reviews. After every 1 star review, you see numerous 5 star reviews within hours of posting. Joy Obiselu is a disgrace to the law profession.

If i could give her zero stars i would.do not hire her she don't know what she doing.she take your money and don't get the job done.save your time and money.Her assistant dont know none when you call her.and coparent was never the problem oni legal should really give me all my money back.she didn't do her job at all and now i have to get a new lawyer to reopen my case.
