Last summer I found myself in the position of needing legal representation for my teenage child in another Texas locality. I originally hired someone based on impressive advertising since I wasn't familiar with the area. This proved to be a costly mistake both financially and in terms of duration due to considerable negligence on the part of the first attorney. I needed help and had no idea where to start. A friend suggested I can Marc Richman for some guidance.
I am writing this review because last month my child made the last necessary court appearance and this issue is behind us. Marc Richman took the time to go over the details of my child's case with me before giving me three references in my child's city that he felt would work well with her. He was kind enough to follow up with me within a few days to see if I had been successful in finding someone with which I felt confident. The law firm hired at Marc's suggestion was reputable, accessible and extremely competent. His professionalism and attentiveness were free to me and appreciated more than I can express. If I or anyone I know should ever need legal help, I would not hesitate to call or recommend Mr. Richman..

The law office of Marc H. Richman has handled several criminal cases for me. After meeting with Mr. Richman in February 2011 and discussing my case, I hired Mr. Richman. He was up front with what I was in store for. I paid my retainer and Mr. Richman was honest with me saying we would probably not need all of the retainer and at the end of the case if there was money left over he would return it to me. He successfully got my case dismissed and my record totally cleared. After talking with Mr. Richman we agreed to leave the remainder of my retainer money just in case another issue with my case should arise and it did. I know from talking with other attorneys most do not give any balance of a retainer back much less let you apply it to another case, however Mr. Richman took the remainder of my retainer and applied it to my second case. Again, he successfully handled my second case without a blemish to my record. He took my calls and got back with me promptly. He set out a game plan with me on how we were going to handle my case and what I could expect. There was never a time in the two years I was dealing with Mr. Richman that I wasn't aware of what was happening with my case and what to expect. I believe it was because of his expert knowledge of the law that everything went accordingly. I have recommended Mr. Richman to anyone/everyone who needs an attorney and assured them if he can't handle the case he will point them in the direction they need. Mr. Richman was not only my attorney he was also my counselor. When you are retaining any attorney it is very important to have someone on your side that you can communicate with and who understands what you are going thru and for me Mr. Richman and the Law Office of Marc H. Richman was exacly that.

I hired this attorney back in late May early June of 2012 after my father-n-law went to see him in regards to his work place environment. Well when my father-n-was there to see him regarding his issue he talked to Mr. Richman about my husbands criminal case. Mr. Richman said he would be glad to take the case that I would need to come see him to discuss the case further and to discuss rates. Well most of us these days are not rich.. So one of the most important questions is How much is this going to cost me? I needed to know that right away so I could get some money together. So anyways I went to Mr. Richmans office with the said retainer amount $2200. (cash) The first thing he said when I handed him the money is "WooHoo" we are getting paid today! That should have been my first sign! But I blow it off as he is just being sarcastic. Anyways Mr. Richman said he would take our case for a set amount instead of his normal hourly rate. (which after doing some research I found was normal for attorneys who take criminal cases... this was not his "trying to help us" gift as he was trying to portray it to be). So on we go... By this time I have $2200 invested in this attorney... And being a single mom and 100% consirned with my husbands well fare I asked a ton of questions well what about this what about that what does this mean how long does that take whats next what should I do and on and on... Well within a month or so.. maybe month and a half I have fully paid this attorney $7500 cash... Know let me tell you... it was coming to the point were I owed him $1000 of that $7500 and he was like I need the rest of my money before we continue... So he did offer me to bring in something worth $1000 and he would hold that until I could pay him the rest in cash well like I said I paid him in full about 1 and a half months after retaining him. So he did "help" with that part. And during this whole time ( month and a half) he just keeps dropping sarcastic remarks here and there. There was even one point were he went to go see my husband in Dallas county to talk plea bargain stuff and made some very very very inappropriate remarks. This made my husband very angry. And after speaking to his assistant Kathy and her trying to justify his playful remarks he had to apologize. I could really go on and on about how unethical a greedy this attorney is and has been during the whole 8 months that I have known him know. I would NEVER recommend this attorney to anyone. He tried to Force us into signing a plea bargain for a 5 year sentence. I know he could do better if he tried. But he did not like me or my husband after figuring out that we were not just a bunch of push overs. I went to the prosecutor and talked to him myself and got him to come off 2 years of his offer! Let me tell you I have 20 or so emails to prove how greedy and crappy Marc Richman has been in dealing with us. This is not someone you want to trust with you critical family situation! Do NOT use this attorney! So much more could be said to explain everything that we went through with this attorney But I want to post this story many more times over different websites to share with others before they make the mistake of hiring this man.
