There is no CenturyLink location at 1203 N. Lavon Ave. ( Off Oak St.), which is shown Google maps. CLOSED The phone # on maps directs to a message to call. I called their customer service where most everything is done by mail.

I didn't even get to the point of having service with CenturyLink but I had the worst experience of my life. I got the modem and when it didn't work, I called the tech dept. A guy from a call center from another country told me there was nothing I could do, because my phone Jack didn't work. The next day I call customer service, his name was Tanner. He had me convinced they could come out and get everything fixed by the next day. Convinced me that bundling it with direct TV was a great way to go. Then after an hour on the phone (I was on my lunch break and literally made a sandwich while on this call, brushed my teeth etc ) because there was a lot of waiting, all the while he is promising to send me to the actual tech dept. To schedule an appt to get me set up. He finally told me that it was 85 dollars for the direct TV and 45 for the internet, ALSO that it was a TWO YEAR contract, I said oh no I don't think I can do that, I thought it was a bundle. Then he says I can bundle it for 90 dollars. Eh, okay that is something I could budget I think but I'm not feeling comfortable with this and I'm about to say no I don't want this service, he tells me that the tech says they cannot connect the internet. I told him to go ahead and cancel the deal and he starts to insist that I write down the account number for direct TV. I tell him that there isn't any reason for that because the agreement was because of the internet, he then begins to act like a collections agency agent/scam artist and starts to offer me a home security plan for 400 hundred dollars. I ask to speak to his supervisor, which he fights until he finally claims to do so. I didn't even have hold music, it was silent. He comes back to the phone and claims that his supervisor said he cannot cancel the request and that I have to call another number. He refused to let me talk to anyone else and had refused to give me his supervisors name. I let him know that I am definitely going to find a lawyer if this doesn't get resolved. He claims that he didn't know I was asking for a name and finally said Drew. Btw he claims they are at a call center in Utah. He finally gives me a number to call after insisting I write down the account number that SHOULDNT even exist yet. And it's a 1 800 number. 1800directv. He didn't even give me the actual numbers, I had to request he give me an actual phone number. I had to call three different places and supposedly they canceled the request. I have confirmation numbers but have not received a confirmation email as they said would be sent. So I'm still worried I may have to take this to court.
This is no way to find loyal customers and do business. It was just manipulation and felt like fielding a call from a scam. I am beyond disappointed. Such a lack of ethics.
