Unfortunately almost a year ago I was surprised with a request for a divorce from my husband. I had no idea how the whole divorce process worked. At my initial meeting, I felt like things were very overwhelming, but Brad MacDonald with Anton Garcia Law, was absolutely the best. My initial attorney I hired was not representing my interests at all. I was being bombarded by requests from my husband’s attorney. I asked my friend who has been divorced 4 times, who the most competent, professional & aggressive attorney was because I needed to be able to see out of my proverbial black eye in order to go to work to pay my husband the alimony he was complaining he wasn't getting. I met with Christina and the threats from my husbands attorney stopped with in a week. Christina who by the way has the best response time to all of my dumb annoying questions ( she even knew the temperature to bake a cake). Fast forward....now my business is in jeopardy of being destroyed and all along the “Captain” ( which his the nice name for the X) still wants his monthly alimony and child support. Christina and Kerstin never let up. Christina out lawyered a judge who literally told her basically " You’re right and I don't care" ( have to love Pasco County), and was frantically yelling terms that I have NO idea as to their meaning. Her passion was obvious! I think her strategy worked and after that day “Captain” decided he wanted to settle. She set up a mediation for a week later. She brought me coffee, was punctual, set up her battle ground all around her and we waited....and waited...and waited....because apparently “Captain” wouldn't stop talking long enough to realize mediation wasn't a vent fest but a place where three attorneys try save you money by not going to trial. Mediation focused only on financial issues and Christina was all about numbers. Spouting things that made a lot of sense and exiting with a mic drop. 11 hours later, yes 11 hours later we settled the money part of my divorce. I walked away with my intact company, all my debt paid off including my vehicles, and a signed waiver for all of the violations to the judges order I apparently never read. I got what was most important and Christina and Kerstin were all I could have asked for. Patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly responsive. They worked late to get my settlement typed up and knew the best way to get it done was to make “Captain” think it was all his idea

John was my lawyer for a first time DUI charge. The state did not make a satisfactory plea offer so we took the case to trial. I contacted this law office to obtain advice and I was in the process of making a list of potential attorneys to handle my case. When I spoke with the receptionist who answered the phone she asked me to give her a brief description of my predicament and she would see which attorney would be available to speak with me - I was placed on a very brief hold. When she came back on the line she said the retainer fee for an attorney at this firm is $3,500-4,000 and the attorney wouldn't speak with me or give me any advice or consultation without paying the retainer fee up front. NEVER SPOKE WITH AN ATTORNEY AT THIS FIRM! I spoke with numerous other attorneys who when I explained my experience with this firm were in complete shock and said it was their civil duty to provide a free consultation to a potential client before demanding a retainer fee! This entire firm is a joke! I can't imagine anyone dumb enough to pay a retainer fee of several thousand dollars to an attorney just to speak with him/her when they could and probably are completely incompetent! If they can't take a few moments out of their day to try and retain a potential client then God help them!

I had a dissatisfying experience working with this law firm. I retained the firm / attorney, Christina Garcia based on the positive reviews online and reputation in the legal community, however surprisingly, my expectations exceeded what they were actually capable of accomplishing. Facing a lawsuit can be an emotional and stressful event in someone’s life. I have never found myself in this type of situation and expected guidance through this unfortunate process. I would have expected legal expertise, support, and assurance that regardless of the outcome, my best interest would be a priority. However, the attorney seem to care more about receiving payment AND additional retainer, instead of providing the legal representation they were retained to provide. I retained this attorney due to a paternity/child support lawsuit filed against me. During consultation, I was given the assurance this case would be handled personally by the partner. In fact the partner referenced she had won several cases against OC. After collecting the first $4500 retainer, it seem to change drastically. I was assigned to an inexperience associate and my retainer was consumed by forwarded emails and back and forth communication, that was being sent by the petitioner's attorney. The OC was filing motions and bullying her way through the process while we were trying to negotiate a settlement, but my attorney seems to have no concerns. Additionally, they missed a mediation hearing, never filed requested documents, provided legal advice or asserted Florida stature or law that I would have to research myself and brought to their attention. I had to deal with the petitioner directly and try to negotiate terms. Case ended in mediation, where after 4.5 hours nothing was accomplished. The associate that accompany me was not prepared and had limited knowledge when I asked for advise. I contacted the partner to express my disappointment. She offered a discounted rate and assured me she would personally take over the case. After agreeing to this, I would have expected she would represent me (after all, it was her I retained) and go after OC aggressively, given the nature of the situation. Instead, a few days later, I received an email demanding I pay her discounted rate (due to her associate's mishandling) and a new retainer. During this, I was traveling for work and had requested we speak later that week. She became hostile and short in her emails. Due to her approach and lack of compassion, I've since terminated my relationship with this law firm and attorney ($6800..later) and would recommend you proceed with caution when retaining this firm or attorney. This attorney exhibited no compassion or empathy. Retrospectively, I believe she was not equipped to handle OC and wanted me to fire her as my attorney. Very unfortunate and disappointing experience. This should have never gone this far, waste of money.

I would recommend John Castro to anyone! I called around to so many law offices when my husband violated his CC probation and he was literally the ONLY ONE who was there and available to talk to me immediately. We spent about 30 mins on the phone and not once did he seem like he was rushing me off the phone as many other attorneys who finally called me back hours later did. I even called back a couple times and once he answered the phone himself, not his assistant. This was very important to me and he made me feel like this case was his first priority and everything was so fast. I needed him ASAP and he was there! The very next morning we met and the day after that we were in court!!!!! he not only kept my husband from going to prison but he actually got him off his CC probation completely and was able to role over into regular probation.
