Horrible attorney. Took my money then totally abandon me. My son sat in jail for almost 6 months and then had to plea guilty to a crime he was not guilty of just to get out of jail. My son was represented at the plea by a novice attorney that we had never seen before and knew nothing about the case, This guy lied to my son to get him to accept the plea. There was plenty of evidence to support my sons innocence including the only victim that wanted to recant her testimony and drop the charges. After I paid Mr Filipkowski we never saw or heard from him again. I'm surprised he's still in practice.

Perhaps me using my actual name will refresh your memory. I, Glenn Allen Stapans, DOB 10 04 1984 hired Ron Filipkowski to represent me on two cases, a violation of probation and a violation of a court order ( 11-759F) in Charlotte County.

Immediately upon meeting him, I paid him in full by check. I never heard from him again. My first court appearance was for the violation of probation. My violation was a complete and total joke...showing up 20 minutes late to probation for a flat tire. No evidence was presented on my behalf. I was found guilty, and sentenced to 18 months DOC.

Here is the worst part: While in jail waiting for my second case to come up to trial, Mr Filipkowski filed a motion to have himself dismissed from my case for nonpayment. I paid him every dollar, literally the second I met him. ( Remember, the office with all of the trophies and teach suits I previously mentioned?)

This attorney charged me a fee. Did literally NOTHING for me. And then abandoned me while I was in jail. I ended up with a public defender pleading me out ( guilty ) instead of having the lawyer I hired right my case for me.

I felt more betrayed by my own attorney that I did by the prosecutor. Thanks Ron. I LOST A YEAR AND A HALF OF MY LIFE FOR A CRIME THAT NEVER HAPPENED.

This man took my money and then did nothing for me. He showed up to a VOP hearing and said he wasnt my lawyer. Funny, because I spent enough time in your office.
