For those who have had negative experience with the Colter Law Group or Mr. Thomas Colter him self. Have you filled a complaint with, Florida Better Business Bureau, The Florida Bar Association, Florida Department of Agriculture Division of consumer affairs, small claims or incident report with the local Police Department? The only way to bring light to his unethical/criminal practices. You need to file a complaint against him and have him investigated. "Don;t just do nothing if you have been taken advantage of". FIile a complaint and let the governing bodies conduct their investigations!

Attorney Colter is by far the worst attorney EVER. My brother seaked his counsel for his custody/child support case. After my mom put up thousands of dollars (for him to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING except paperwork). He sends my brother a letter about 1-2weeks prior to his final hearing telling him he needed to pay another $2500 retainer within in 10 days. When my brother called to make arrangments he was told to ask his mom or he won't be able to represent him. After spending thousands one would think he would give him some time to come up with the retainer. His actions, behavior and attitude are all fueled by greed. Which resulted in him not showing up to court and my brother lost his case. I NEVER wanted him to go with this law firm in the 1st place. In the military you are taught to have honor if NOTHING else. I guess there is NO HONOR AMOUNGST THIEVES. STRAIGHT RIP OFF. Dont use him. He doesn't care about anything except MONEY. The nerve of some people.

My boyfriend has been going through a very tough time and got into trouble. Thomas Colter has been with us since the start and is an amazing lawyer! Could not ask for a better lawyer. Very trustworthy and reliable. Truly cares about his clients even ordered my boyfriend and i a book to read to help with our anxiety and learning how to take control of our lives.

Before I made the call to him I received a call from Tom to meet him at his office within a few hours of the referral. Dealing with this ‘law company’ was an awful experience. They have no ethics nor integrity. Tried to use them to help my girlfriend file for divorce. Things went badly from the beginning. When we tried to address our concerns with the owner, Tom Colter, about the shoddy, unprofessional work, as well as being overcharged, we were accused of arguing; and our questions were never answered.

The problem started when my girlfriend met with an associate to complete her paperwork. He presented her with paperwork that he had filled out incorrectly. When she questioned this he got upset, and he threw her out of the office. We found out later that we were billed for this privilege and it was taken out of the retainer we had paid.

We should have left the firm then, however, when I called, the owners wife interceded and was incredibly comforting and apologetic. She promised to handle the matter personally, so we decided to give it another chance. She also assured us that the other associate would no longer be working on the case, yet despite her assurances, he continued to do so, and we were invoiced for more mistakes that he made. Unfortunately, the wife was suddenly absent from the office, and never completed the work promised

My girlfriend tried to follow up and spoke to Tom Colter. Instead of listening and being sympathetic as Jessica tried to tell him about the unprofessional behavior of his associate, as well as the errors; Colter cut her off and accused Jessica 'of being angry.' While she does have every right to be upset, this was not the case. She suffers from Multiple Sclerosis which makes it difficult for her to speak clearly at times. When she told him this, Colter asked her if her ‘multiple sclerosis makes it possible to stop talking and listen to him.’

I would have been satisfied with a partial refund of the $1500.00 retainer that was paid. Instead I was asked to pay another $1500.00 to finish the job. What makes this especially upsetting is that my girlfriend is a war veteran with twenty years’ service and a disability. She didn’t deserve to be treated like that.

Stay away from this guy he is a shyster.

Greatly disappointed with Tom Colter. He was more interested in how much money he could get from me while not acting aggressively on my behalf.
I was falsely accused, never charged, never arrested but Colter preyed on my PTSD. When the person who falsely accused me, sued me, Colter's advice was to give them my financial information. They got nothing since I have so little. Only winner was Colter. Shameful! But in the end no one to blame but myself. Beware of this law firm. Only good aspect is the kindness of his office staff, good people Colter doesnt deserve.

My wife has Bipolar and lost control while driving. The police forced her off the road. She was charged with DUI, Fleeing to elude among other charges. By the time the charges were tallied my wife was facing 5 to 10 years if taken to trial. The State Prosecutor wanted to make a deal for 3 years. The first attorney we hired wanted to make that deal. I'm sorry but that was unacceptable. Prison for having a medical condition - Bipolar? Seriously? What is this world coming to? We found Tom Colter and at our first meeting we knew he was the one to help our family. He always made time for our many questions. His entire team was at our disposal. In today's "PC world" Tom Colter explained what we were facing, options and after reviewing our case and seeing our situation Tom Colter took our case to trial and won!!! Tom is a hell of a trial lawyer!!! God forbid we ever need an attorney again. If we ever do we will be calling Tom Colter.

I only give one star bc his paralegal was an angel but as far as Colter goes,he was the meanest,crook that I've ever met. He promised me that i had a great case but after i paid his retainer of 5 grand my situation was all of the sudden grim and if i wanted the outcome that i deserved then it would cost another 10 grand to take it to court.

Just after posting my review (which did not mention the harassment, yelling and disrespect, from Tom Colter, on many occasions)
I was sent two emails from Tom Colter, he has threatened me, demanding me to delete my review of his services.
This is just further proof of his poor ethics. I felt my review was more than fair considering I left a lot of information out in regards to how I was treated by Colter.

Please do not entrust this man to handle your affairs as these decisions are going to affect your lives and can possibly be damaging to you and your family's life as so in my case.

I'd give him a negative 5 stars if I could. Very rude, ignored my dads call, but answered as soon as I called him and was very rude. He told me to call his office...which by the way is disconnected. Thomas Colter is truly a man of God. He is passionate and he was a blessing to our family. He is an honest man. I recommend anyone that needs legal representation to contact him. He is honest upfront and truthful. In life we go through storms we can't understand and have no control over but God will place people in your path to lead you to victory. The head lawyer "Mr. Colter", is over rated. I had problems getting in contact with him, each time I called, I was told he was not available, but I would always get a statement inregards to the balance. I paid that law firm thousands of dollars and not one positive result. In my honest opinion I would NEVER!!! EVER!!! recommend anyone to this law firm.

I was never ever in any kind of trouble in my life. I met the wrong person who must have been...Mr Colter promised us that the case was bogus, no proof and that he would have the charges dismissed before a court date could be given. He sucked us for big $$$ said it wouldn't go to trial..well...he lied sooooooooooo bad. Never did anything. Claimed he used email as his contact with Prosecutor...DID Nothing..then went to Court only to find out he was the STUTTERING LAWYER from My Cousin Vinny....Represent yourself if u want to hire this COLTER....
