We hired Attorney Saint Suran for a custody case that should have been an easy no brainer while janese Caruthers worked out of his office. That was right before she went on her own, and I guess we were part of the unlucky ones that got sent with her. Putting our faith and our child into her hands, trusting her whole heartedly. Only if we knew then what we know now we would have ran the other way, saved a lot of money, and had the job done right a whole lot sooner. I did most of the research, and paper trail already had motions filed before we hired an attorney. She has a very plesent disposition but professional she is not!!! She had so many different secretaries at times none at all and nobody would answer the phone or return calls. Janese was very forefront with her cell number and email but what good is that if even your attorney doesn't answer calls, text or even emails. Got to the point where I felt like we were stalking them waiting outside the office for someone to show up. Only for the secretary to say I don't know......., about anything! Felt like saying what do you know, and what are you doing here then. We went months without getting a response, then when we finally would accidentally find Janese in her office she would try to sugar coat her absence and the staffs ignorance. Saying oh yes I filed the motions were just waiting on a date, depending on the judges schedule, only to find out she never filed them at all. Which we didn't find out until after we received a letter in the mail informing us she was closing her office and going to work in Tampa all I have to say about that is I feel sorry for them, and glad we finally have an attorney that is everything and more than what an attorney should be. Sorry that we waited almost 3 years to do it!! Definitely would not recommend Janese Caruthers for anything!

It is disappointing to meet people in life who you can not count on. IT IS EVEN MORE WHEN YOU ACTUALLY PAY AND TRUST YOUR ATTORNEY! How easy she sees your case to be and how she can represent you in court in the most beneficial, rewarding and profitable way! And as dependent upon our lawyer as we are and all we have is HOPE and we place all this hope on JANESE CARUTHERS as our attorney TO FIND OUT THAT SHE MAY VERY WELL BE A CROOK is more than disappointing. ALL I CAN SAY IS "PLEASE-PLEASE-PLEASE Don't make the same mistake I made. Don't make the mistake Raquel Gilmore made. WE TRUSTED THIS LAWYER AND IT MAY VERY WELL BE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE WE MADE. Isn't it sad that the legal professional you trust to be on your side...screws you?! I will definitely report her and hope that Karma catches up with her fast! Unbelievable...but TRUE! What a joke! What a con!

Horrible!

Horrible attorney i actually had to file an official complaint with the Florida bar on her. She was notified about my court date Jan 17th. She went months without contacting me then sends a letter to the wrong address after her secretary confirmed she received my email update. Luckily my child's father mentioned the trial. I had a mandatory training for my business I own in Tampa (I scheduled the training in Feb. if I had been notified when she was I would have been able to avoid this all). After days of trying to contact her I finally was able to and I told her I would return for court if need be and she told me she would have it continued she knows the judge. She then filed a motion saying I wanted to attend my daughters custody hearing over the phone although I had proof I did not. She did not attempt to set a meeting with me before the court date to prep or even tell me I could have support witnesses in court.. She didnt even notify me of court. Long story short I got a text 9 mins before the judge called me and said I had to be in court by phone since I wasnt there. (Which also means I had to leave training and sit in a car for 4 hours, meaning I lost the $1200 I spent on the training because I didnt complete all the hours.) Luckily there is an appeal process for crappy lawyers that allows you to have a retrial. So I had to hire a new lawyer for $1500 to finish the case properly. I paid her in full upfront and although I confronted her with all the evidence that supports the fact that she dropped the ball major she then told me its unethical to continue to speak to me because I had already hired a new lawyer. Truth is she's a soft goldfish amongst sharks. She tries to play sweet and win over judges while the other lawyer is playing shark and trying to tear you apart on stand. If you love yourself, your child, or your money... STAY AWAY!

By far the worst attorney.

WORST DAMN ATTORNEY OR PUBLIC DEFENDER EVER. SHE DOES NOT ANSWER CALLS DOES NOT RETURN THEM COMMUNICATION SKILLS SUCK WHATS THE POINT OF HIRING AN ATTORNEY YOU CANT COMMUNICATE WITH.... WILL BE FILLING SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AGAINST HER..... UNFORTUNATELY SHE WAS HIRED TO TAKE ON SEVERAL ON MY SPOUSES CASES SHE IS HORRIBLE TERRIBLE YOU CANT BE THAT BUSY YOU CANT ANSWER THE PHONE SHE NEED TO BE TAKKEN DOWN BECAUSE SHE IS NOT GOOD AT WHAT SHE DOES. I AM VERY UNSATISFIED WITH HER LACK IN EVERYTHING SHE DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY FEEDBACK NO UPDATES NO ANYTHING I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND HER FOR ANYONE SHE NEEDS TO BE DEMOTED I HOPE MY REVIEWS REACHES THOUSANDS BECAUSE HOW CAN YOU CALL YOURSELF A CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY WHEN THE SERVICES YOU ARE PROVIDING IS NOT BENEFITING WHOM YOUR ARE FIGHTING FOR BEEN REACHING OUT TO THIS LADY FOR DAYS NO ANSWER NO RESPONSE LEAVING COUNTLESS OF MESSAGES AND VOICEMAILS SHE WILL NOT RETURN YOUR CALL FROM THE LOOK OF HER PICTURES SHE LOOKS TO BE WORTHLESS MRS. CARUTHERS FIND YOU ANOTHER PROFESSION BECAUSE CRIMINAL DEFENSE DONT SERVE YOU ANY GOOD IF YOU JUST GOING TO MAKE THOSE WHOM YOU ARE FIGHTING FOR STILL LOOK BAD TAKES THIS ADVICE AND LEARN AND GROW FROM IT TERRIBLE LAWYER YOU ARE!!!!!
