If we had been able to stick with the first person from Housing Justice Program who went over our case ( David Henken) I have little doubt our case would have gone wonderfully - been dismissed, actually. Unfortunately, he handed us over to Josefina Cerrillo Ramirez and things went horribly. She didn't even try to speak on our behalf and acted scared to death of opposing counsel. She waived my rights to defense or even to be notified if my landlord decided to take me to court again. Who in their right mind would willingly sign over their rights to defend themselves or for notice that someone is trying to take you for everything you have (our home) If you get assigned her for whatever reason, please reconsider walking into the courtroom with her as your defense. She didn't even sign off on a contract she made me sign. I ended up having to pay over $3000 when only one month's rent was in question ( had proof it was paid) plus property owner put a lien against my home and constantly harassing me, serving eviction papers - always on a weekend. Specifically told Sheriff's department to serve me on Mother's Day. No, nothing hinky going on here
