I could not have navigated the complicated insurance and financial issues that my parents needed to have addressed without Janet and her team. Her highly professional and timely work took a great deal of stress out of a difficult and sometimes emotional situation. It's never easy watching your parents age and the roles change, but with the guidance and empathy that was given by Northwest Elder Law Group my family's transition was done with grace and dignity. Thank you Janet--Keely Zeigler Rogel

Janet and NWELG were instrumental in helping our family through a very difficult time. In the spring of 2018, it came to the attention of our family, that our sister was financially exploiting our elderly Father, who has Alzheimer’s.

I can’t thank Janet enough for her help and guidance, in this very personal family matter. I can assure you, there will be no hesitation in referring any and all, that may need her help and assistance. From our entire family, our deepest and most sincere thanks!

As of August 2018, I have been a client of the Northwest Elder Law Group (NELG) for seven years. During that time I received assistance with my duties as Power of Attorney for a friend with Alzheimer’s disease and eventually with the execution of her Will. I always received prompt, professional and compassionate service. The attorneys and staff at NELG are experienced in all legal issues concerning elders and I highly recommend them and will continue to hire them as needed.

Northwest Elder Law Group was recommended to me and I now do the same favor for you. Rebecca was a dream to work with: sharp, professional, and an attorney with lots of heart.

As a personal representative for my sister's estate, I am so thankful for Northwest Elder Law's legal support and guidance. At first I thought I could handle the details of the estate without a lawyer, but I quickly realized that I would save a lot of time and missteps by working with their team. Rebecca King was my go-to person, and she was prompt, professional, and guided me through each step. I would highly recommend this firm for anyone dealing with an estate.

I met with NW Elder Law Group for doing a Durable Power of Attorney and I was very pleased with their step by step advice and explanation. We did it in two meetings and the attorney, Janet, was well informed and very patient in covering all the details. Reasonable fee. I would recommend them to anybody. Bob

The most respectful attorney that I’ve ever met. Dealt with power of attorney, advance directive, wills for my in-laws. Did such a great job we had her do ours.

Great attorney.
Fantastic person.

Northwest Elder Law lived up to the recommendations I received as the number one place to go with dementia legal issues. Janet Smith and her staff are knowledgeable, crisp and sensitive. Thank you!

I consulted with Katie Peterson of the NW Elder Law Group to gain an understanding of my duties as Power of Attorney for my elderly mother. She conducted a thorough review, asked questions, combed through my documents and advised me about conducting my duties to the letter of the law. She was experienced, kind, professional and responsive.
I strongly recommend Katie Peterson, she is a powerful advocate.

As a retired attorney and current Title 11 GAL, I've had a fair amount of experience dealing with difficult elder law issues. Recently, I had the good fortune of participating in a mediation with Janet Smith (NW Elder Law Group PLLC) acting as mediator. She was nothing short of amazing in the way she dealt evenly and thoughtfully will all sides, and helped bring a particularly difficult infra-family dispute to settlement. I can't recommend her highly enough.

This was an excellent group to work with. They were all friendly and helpful. My lawyer was Janet Smith who had many excellent suggestions about my will and answered my questions in an understandable way. She also suggested people who could act as Power of Attorney for financial and health purposes. I am very satisfied with the help I received and will certainly use them again if necessary.

Their office is easy to find, and they have reserved parking right by the front door of the building, but there is plenty of other parking if these are full. There are disabled person facilities available in the building.

Our experience with Janet Smith and her team was excellent. We had our wills, DPOA's, advance directives, etc. done through this firm. They were very well organized and knowledgeable, easy to work with, friendly and efficient. Janet was very patient when we asked the same questions more than once in order to get a full understanding of what the terminology meant and how we should go about dividing certain property. Very good experience overall.

I represented one member of a family that was in turmoil about the capacity and protection of an elderly gentleman. Because of the family issues, I contacted Janet Smith of Northwest Elder Law Group and asked her to conduct a family mediation. Janet was knowledgeable about the law, communicated very well with the family members and the attorneys, and helped us reach a very good resolution. The mediation was so successful, that the day ended with the "warring" family members agreeing to go out to dinner together. It was a wonderful result for the family and I don't think we would have reached it without Janet's help.
