Ficek Law is a thorough and caring practice that will ensure your legal matters are handled both professionally and efficiently. I was lucky to have found Tony for my SSDI case--as I am still very young and have lyme disease and several other conditions/diseases. My age combined with my primary diagnosis being severely misunderstood and controversial made me a red flag for attorneys. Tony was willing to not only take the case, but actually fight to gather evidence in multiple states, including testimonies from medical providers, employers, universities attended, and caregivers to maximize my chances of a favorable decision.

It is difficult fighting to win a court case when you are fighting for your life daily. I wouldn't recommend that even the brightest individuals do this alone; instead, work WITH Tony to (don't just dump your case on him without following up and helping to secure evidence). He is both patient and prompt and will be completely honest about where you stand based on his experience. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed!

I tried to fill out all the paperwork for disability, but 15 minutes into it my head was spinning. Lots of complicated questions. After searching and speaking to several firms. I made my decision to let Gary and Tony Ficek handle all the paperwork and advisement. They set up a appointment to go over my case with in a couple days. I got there with a couple papers my Dr. gave me and within a hour he had all my information and paperwork finished and faxed out to their destinations . He then explained the steps they take and what to expect to happen from the best case scenario to the worse case scenario, they told me that they would handle things from that point on ,I was really impressed with Tony Ficek's Accuracy and Professional performance . Within a week I received a letter from DSSI office in our area, verifying they have received the information and Ficek Law firm would be handling it. I am glad to say today I received my acceptance letter, which if you were in the same position as I am took a lot of worry and pressure off my family. I am extremely grateful for all the time and work they put into my case. Thankyou Ficek Law. Sincerely Steve D.

Ficek Law firm is absolutely the areas Social Security experts - after a initial case review with them I was told that I had a good case for my disability application. After receiving a description of all options and a complete explanation of what the process would/could entail I decided to proceed with Tony handling every aspect of my application. He was great to work with, he handled all filings and ensured that all documents were submitted.
I was awarded benefits within 90 days of filing!!!
A big Thank you to both Gary and Tony for exemplary professional results.
I will definitely recommend the Ficek Law firm to anyone in need of help in dealing with SSDI.

I had an opportunity to work withTony (Anton) Ficek regarding a SS situation. He is very knowledgeable, thorough, caring, thoughtful, and a wonderful listener. I have no problem recommending to others. He is a great attorney and a class act!

I feel like my attorney totally traded me for the 3 other cases he had that day. I told my lawyer to change my court date 3 weeks earlier because I was having a hysterectomy 7 days before my court date; which turned into a radical hysterectomy with complications, I wasn’t permitted to drive for 3 weeks and was on pain medication. My lawyer told he to wait until we see how I feel that day. I was home from the hospital and unable to attend my court date just like I told him. My daughter called and told his secretary that as expected I can’t make it. Well evidently he told the judge I was in the “hospital” and not home on bed rest, pain medication and not allowed to drive. I mailed my hospital records to him and received a denial saying that according to my representative I was not actually in the “hospital” therefore misting my court date was not a sufficient reason for missing my court date and denied me one. His decision put me in a place that if I appealed it I would be waiting approximately another 12 months from an appellate court to agree or disagree with this decision and my lawyer tells me the appellate courts rarely change the judges decision. So I lost my $35K I had accumulated in back pay because this lawyer didn’t do his job and he actually misinformed the judge costing me my case and then having to start all over again! He called me and said, “the judges decision was insane but I wouldn’t help you on an appeal for it because it’s rarely over turned,” but then he said, “go ahead and file again and you’ll be approved right away and if you get one denial call me.” Usually they require two denials before they will take your case which is what I had been through. He also told me they are only interested in the last two years of records which made absolutely no sense to me since I had 15 years of MRI’s and comparisons proving my spine was getting worse.
I’ll add a photo of the judges ruling so you can understand how lawyer completely threw me under the bus. I would think he should have informed the judge he made a mistake but I guess buyer beware they aren’t held accountable for misrepresentation, Don’t use this lawyer, I lost my back pay because he didn’t change my court date when I asked him to and I made a huge mistake trusting him and all his statists he throws at you. His wrong information misinformed the judge which gave the judge a “loop hole” to deny me s new court date. Use an advocate service and they will help you fill the papers out correctly. You can also just file at your local SS office with a representative. I can’t believe my lawyer actually did this to me! I meant nothing to him so I would definitely not recommend him at all. I have lived completely broke since 2016 and I know he doesn’t care at all or he would have corrected HID mistake. I don’t know if I could have sued him for misrepresenting me or actually completely lying to the judge but I decided to handle it myself and I am going to my local SS office next week to refile and with all my records. I’m at my last hope here because I need MY MONEY that I paid from my working history which you’re employer matches so this is completely wrong that I cannot get my own money. I would 100% rather be at work than live in the pain I do. I’m beyond angry at this man for caring so little about his client. And, he’s mean and bullied me during our phone call and meetings. Thanks Gary!

Gary was very knowledgeable in Social Security disability claims and explained the process & how difficult it was. He told me I got the worst judge there was for my hearing so I knew it was a uphill battle. I worked as hard as I could in getting doctors on board & to write letters. Getting doctors to talk to each other is difficult on a good day. I did my part to help Gary and in the end, I didn't get everything I wanted but we did win & having that financial safety net made a huge difference in my life.

I had applied for benefits on my own, and after being denied throughout the appeals process I decided to find a lawyer to help me with my hearing. I am SO glad I did. I wasn't an easy client and I had a tough judge and Tony helped me win my case!

He didn't review all my records and wanted to charge $3000 just to take my case. I found another disability lawyer who was thorough and didn't charge unless I was granted disability. We went in front of a judge and won the case. No thanks to this guy though! What a rip off to a poor disabled person.

His office was unbelievably rude. I was shocked they would treat their customers in this manner. Gary was never available. Please look somewhere for legal services you will be incredibly grateful that you did.

Gary Ficek is a caring, compassionate attorney who uses his decades of experience to help people navigate through their very difficult journeys. He takes time to explain how he came to his conclusions and why he is advising a course of action. I highly recommend Mr. Ficek and his law firm.

I was surprised to read the negative review of Gary Ficek. Racist? I think not; I know not. I have known Gary for more than 30 years and have always found him to be sensitive, even-handed, hard working and knowledgeable. He provides exemplary service to all of his clients, white, black or brown. If you need help, Gary can and will provide it. If you need legal counsel, without hesitation, with confidence, I recommend Gary Ficek.
