Dude did very little for my mother in her divorce trial after 8 months, and spent over 2000 dollars of our limited income doing it. If you want a lawyer who wont fight for you, or communicate with you at all during your trial, then hire Obie law. Otherwise save your money and invest it in someone capable.

Not going to lie, he fired me as a client because I couldn't pay him more than an entire paycheck with two days notice. I bounced a payment and that's my fault. I recognize people have to be paid and I was able to come up with $2500 up front. When he billed me I had multiple personal emergencies which drained my account... Car repair so I could work, and well pump issues so I had water. I don't gamble or party or squander my money, and I just didn't have enough.
But I was considering changing attorneys regardless, because I didn't feel like he was on my side, or understood that my soon-to-be-ex was engaging in financial abuse throughout the marriage. I am having a hard time getting on my feet because of the abuse; for example, my paycheck is garnished because of bills he would not allow me to pay. Financial and verbal abuse escalated to destruction of things of mine and eventually a night alone in the ER with kidney stones woke me up and I left. We have minimal property outside of our mobile home (which I'm allowing STBX to have) some old cars, and my contributions to retirement. STBX and his attorney decided everything I got is precious ($3000 for an 85 suburban that hasn't moved in years?) While his stuff, including the house we paid $10,000 for only being worth $4000. Sure. So they want to take everything in my retirement I've worked for since before I met him. And Obie said personal property is already divided (STBX has most of my things) so we need to split the retirement. I told him the day I hired him, I need to protect the retirement.
Mr Obie is not very responsive and I've gone weeks without hearing from him. I filed in February and there are no children so WHY AM I NOT DIVORCED? We don't have investments or anything, together we made around $40k a year. The property is minimal and I let STBX have most of it.
If you have something uncontested, I think Mr Obie would be fine, but if you want someone who actually is in your corner, keep looking. I'm looking, or I may be forced to represent myself. At least I know whose side I'm on. People asked me that about my former lawyer.
I'm very disappointed in the representation I received, prior to the money issue. He says he did all this work and the retainer is gone. Maybe there was work I wasn't aware of but I certainly don't have evidence of much.
