I won my case after almost 10 years of fighting with social security. They never gave up on me. Never screwed me with money always gave me the best advice. I know many reviews say that they are uninviting never offer coffee or water etc... keep in mind their office space is small so I don't see how they would have space for some coffee machine or water dispenser. All I can say is they offer their help which is all you really need. If they don't talk much is because they are trying to keep things strictly professional. Keep in mind they are your attorneys not your best buddies. So if you need a friend to talk to you can't find that here. All they are is great professional kind people who work hard for you....

Absolutely worthless Thomas Bothwell was very careless and uninviting.
He told me he's busy and will Not take my case I begged him for his help and he said he don't have time for me.
It wasn't till I was in tears that he said we I can't stand to see a grown man cry never mind I guess I will help you.
He spent all of maybe 5 minutes with me.
That's after arriving on time and being put in a cold uninviting room for 30+ minutes waiting on him.
I was then told a paralegal would talk to me. Another 20+ minute wait she came in and spend a few minutes with me and had me sign paperwork.
No one was friendly no one offered water or coffee.
And in the end I got denied due to THEIR LACK OF WORK they never even asked for my medical records to support my case.
Stay clear if you want to have a chance wining your case.

I came to Bothwell and Hamill at about the half way point in my LNI claim. The surgeon was going to leave me with a not properly working shoulder. This was unacceptable. I wanted to return to work. I sought the help of an attorney. I was partnered with Marisol. She worked her tail off for me. I was able to have a second surgery and ultimately return to work. Marisol was in constant communication with me. Meaning, any new information, any concerns, if I called her with questions, she got back to me within a very timely manner. I believe she was they key component in me returning to work and getting my life back. I cannot thank this firm enough, but especially her. She went above and beyond for me. When I went to see Bothwell and Hamill, I was with Tom Bothwell. On the initial consultation with him, he was straight foreword with all the information of my Social Security claim. He told me about the difficulty of a claim with my job experience. I was also informed about the length of time if it had to go to a hearing. When my claim was denied again he took care of all the paperwork involved for a hearing and again told me about the length of time it could take. He kept me informed about everything that was taking place while waiting for the hearing. He told me about different questions that could be asked by the judge. Even though it was a tough case to win he worked hard and in the end won my case. I recommend him for any Social Security Disability claim you have.

My trouble started when The attorney was telling me what to do about my injury and case, and misspoke and said my right leg, and when I corrected him and said it's actually my left knee, he stated "well I have so many cases I get confused sometimes". That immediately put up my warning signs. Then later in the case somehow the vocational councilor found out I was "thinking" of choosing option 2, but they blamed the doctor "they" told me I should go see, saying she put it in my medical notes. When I said I'll ask her why she'd do that, they said no don't talk to her about it? So I looked in my chart notes and never seen In her chart notes anything about me thinking of choosing option 2. But why would she put in medical notes what my retrain goals were considering that has NOTHING TO DUE WITH MEDICAL. My doctor is amazing and I don't hold her accountable for there stupidity. Then they had me pay $2500.00 for an IME from one of "there" doctors and at the end they NEVER USED THE IME at least I never saw it in my L&i case and when asked why it wasn't used I was told "It's there if we need it." On top of all that I find out during my time loss they should have pushed for fixing my right ankle that should have been covered because it affected my ability to participate in vocational counselling. Then after the rating came in on my knee, i noticed my back wasn't rated and they advised me to wait until I got a payment on my knee then challenge my back and pay another $2500 bucks for another ime from there doctor when they didn't use the first one. I asked why pay $2500 dollars when the law states I can't have a zero rating do to the Miller decision, in which they sent a letter to l&i challenging the back when they spent 45 minutes telling me not to do ANYTHING to stop the knee payment. When I asked them what good it did to send the challenging letter on the back now instead of AFTER the knee down payment they said nothing. All it did was pause my payment. I was VERY UPSET and asked them why they would do that and what I would owe them to be done with my case he said I'll send a letter to l&I today and won't charge you anything. He asked what I want to do I said I was going to ask another attorney on what to do, but they withdrew from being my attorney cause they knew I was firing them. I've never had any lawyer ever not know what body part or what exactly was going on with my case like these people. They want everyone else to do the work while the take your money and sit back and try to make you think your stupid and they got it al figured out when really they are lost and confused cause there overloaded. I honestly believe they could be the best L&i attorney in Washington but they are under staffed and over proud. Mind you they didn't take anymore money when they withdrew, (withdrew cause they knew i was firing them) but after talking with an attorney there's good reason they withdrew and left the money. Don't get caught up. Crazy. I've never had a worse representation in my life. I've had 7 attorneys in my life and NEVER have fired or had one withdraw. That tells me were the problem lays.
