Attended a real estate(PMAR) event at the Oregon State Bar and it was first class in all categories! This facility is really nice!
Thank you.

The automated telephone system has terrible service. Specifically in Spanish. They are no help at all. It has no options for assistance. It just keeps talking.

Attorneys protecting their own. I filed a complaint against a very dishonest and unethical attorney with numerous complaints to the Bar. Like all other complaints, my complaint was also dismissed. Totally illogical and ridiculous excuses given.

They very quickly found me a lawyer who specializes in my situation and is available to handle my case at a very affordable rate. I later looked up the lawyer they recommended, and found that he is well reviewed and qualified.

OSB is not helpful and is very corrupted. I wrote a complaint on a lawyer who is a DA in Marion County and I have not recieved a response for a dirty lawyer Douglas Christopher Hanson and the OSB placed my complaint right along with my husband which is wrong because its two different complaints.

Douglas Christopher Hanson hasnt wrote a response regarding my complaint within a certain amount of time. The OSB is covering the wrongful prosecution that Douglas Christopher Hanson has done by violating constitutional rights such as preliminary hearing was taken, the DA manipulated e-court and also made me into a victim and witness when I wasnt just so the DA can take away my marital privilege so he forced me into being a victim and witness.

If I was a victim than why didnt I have rights as this suppose "victim/witness"?? I had no victim advocate and every rights that I had was violated so why didnt the OSB investigate the corruption of this lawyer as a DA?

The OSB is not helpful at all.

The Oregon State Bar is extremely competent. They are very professional, particularly during the complaint process. Considering the nature of the Oregon Revised Statutes and the OSB's conflicting
roles as quasi official state agency and trade association they are impressive. Public Defenders are of course employes of the state and are legally required to put the welfare of the people ahead of their clients, their role has been shrunk almost to the point of legal secretary. They are as competent or more as any attorney, it's not their fault the state will no longer guarantee the poor the right to an attorney. If you can afford your own attorney it may be the best investment you ever make. If you pay attention to the intitial consultation you can get very good advice. It is possible the attorneys seeking recommendations from the OSB are not quite as established ones you can find yourself. I believe they all offer a low cost consultation, so why not ask one you have confidence in. Never be intimidated or hesitant to ask an attorney a question. Giving you as much information as possible is a big part of their job. Your time with them is very short and and you don't get much warning about your opportunities. I believe you get out of their representation what you put into it.

Felicia and one other girl who wouldn't give me her name, are not helpful. Not even friendly.
If you don't know how to do your job, you should at least be friendly.
I was in need of a referral for an attorney, and in all of Oregon there is only one who is in their referral program. This just confirms, along with all the other poor reviews, that Felicia and her team are doing a terrible job, and smart attorneys are not using their services. Its too bad they are the only referral service around, I would call elsewhere and avoid these people.

(Not poor to fair -- just poor)
If you think by contacting OSBAR that you will be referred to the cream of the crop of attorneys, think again. The attorneys OSBAR will refer you to are attorneys who have paid OSBAR to refer them. While I will never use the OSBAR attorney referral service again, I have used them in the past and every attorney I have consulted with literally has no idea how to practice in his or her field.

I've been referred to a disability attorney who mishandled my case to the point where my claim was utterly destroyed due to her incompetence. When a friend of mine was seeking to stay in this country on an F1 student visa, I was referred to an immigration attorney who didn't know what an F1 visa was (I had to explain it to him while he Googled it). A copyright attorney was unsure if I could copyright under a pseudonym (it's done all the time).

All OSBAR attorneys are happy to take the $35 consultation fee you owe them, but I've yet to find one that's worth a plugged nickel. You'll have better luck Googling attorneys in your area than going through OSBAR for referrals.
