Never talked to any lawyer in 1 year.

It's been a long process and finally had my hearing. The time it takes is not the fault of the law firm, but the system. Jason Emery represented me and you'd have thought he'd been a fly on the wall, watching my life for the past several years. He knew my case like the back of his hand. I must also credit the legal team, Calista comes to mind above all others. She was so kind and so thorough at preparing my case. I've yet to even have a decision but that doesn't take away from the kudos this firm deserves!

I came to Greeman and Toomey three and a half years ago and through their hard work I have been able to live in my apartment now for three years because I got my social security disability.

This Law Office is not even worth one star. I have currently been waiting on my case and they have only spoken to me once, any email responses take a week longer and often you have to email them a second time to get a response. If you are looking to speak to anyone that can answer your questions with court paperwork, you will not find them here as they have been able to answer none of my questions. If you are looking for someone to do the legwork of your case, you will not find them here. I requested medical record be pulled from 2013-current and they went as far back as 2015, even after I supplied them and did the most of the leg work getting them those medical records. If you are looking to speak to anyone as your case approaches do not expect to find that here, they will bounce you to voicemails and never call you back. If you are looking for someone to walk you through step by step, you will find more honest help by calling your local Social Security Office. Employee ratings on working there certainly are atrocious. They are currently getting one star reviews from employees which certainly is the level of care that those employees have for their clients! Do NOT use this firm.

I would suggest finding a lawyer who cares about you personally. At this law firm your just a name. Not once did an attorney talk to me personally to understand my disease and as a rare disease i was told 30 minutes before court they had never heard of it before. Preparation before judge was not done well. I felt like they worked against me, not for me. Odd cuz they get paid when they only win. Im extremely upset & not happy with them. Their office looks like it was thrown in a room disorganized.

They knew just the right way to approach my case and have kept me calm and optimistic throughout this crazy process. I've already recommended them to others needing help.

When James Greeman came to my house for the free consultation he told me exactly how the process would go, start to finish and exactly how long each step would likely take. He was exactly right. I didn't pay a dime until my case was settled. Staff is helpful and patient with my anxiety in between the "steps" of the process when the Social Security Administration was taking their time reviewing my case, etc. And I was able to get significant back benefits to pay off bills that stacked up when I was unable to work, etc.

I used Greeman and Toomey to fight for SSI. James Greeman was fantastic! The first disability hearing I had, Mr.Toomey didn't seem invested in my case, which I ended up losing. When I had my second hearing, James Greeman made all the difference .There's quite a difference between the two lawyers. I had no idea what I was doing and after being denied several times , I was finally approved with the help of James Greeman.

The entire process of applying for SSDI benefits is extremely daunting if a person attempts to complete it on their own. As a knew client, I'm already afraid they are as most who follow judge mental american's , with not show but just talk.can be not very good to see no way to contact them then telephone, or us mail? why not email? some as my self with some disovantages and daily opsticules....sorry for misspelling's .. but things goes crazzy wrong for me daily challenging as keeping a simple phone line for my contact option.. i need an attorney who keeps serious contact and prisistance mail,or even home visit

Go with someone else. Their communication is non-existent and they don't care about you as a client. No phone calls unless I called them and then it would take two or three tries to get a hold of someone. I got notified of my denial by a letter from them a month after I already received the decision from social security. And they filed for an appeals council without talking to me first as I had already hired a new lawyer.

They won my case but Mr Greeman was more interested in my personal decisions than the facts of my case

Greeman Toomey have been working my case for over a year now and nothing is going good at all. There is absolutely no communication at all and none of my emails or phone calls have been returned. I did the work they we're supposed to do. Did not get anywhere with them. -1

Not too happy with this law firm. Although I cannot speak on everyone employed by Greeman Toomey, I can say that Laura Gwinn is very arrogant and hardly allows you to voice your input without cutting you off. I filed a claim for disability benefits due to PTSD, something that has altered my quality of life immensely, but Ms. Gwinn seemed to have no regard for my personal circumstances and had my case closed after she argued with me about not receiving a voicemail I left for her with an updated mailing address. Unfortunately I’m forced to start the sever year process all over again and I definitely will not be doing it with this law firm. It’s been a joke!!!!

I was defended by this firm for my SSI case and I was kept in contact with for each month of the 6 months it took for my hearing to come up. (I postponed my hearing) They did soo much digging for all my records, even things I forgot about, the judge was nice and my attorney was great at presenting my case.

Mr. Toomey accepted my case almost 2 years ago. I have several health issues including seizure disorder. When I was finally scheduled for a hearing in St. Louis, MO, I was unable to go to the hearing because I had started having breakthrough seizures. I cannot drive and the new medication I was put on was making me very groggy and sleepy. One of the employees, UR, requested a letter from my doctor`s office regarding my health and why I was unable to go to the hearing. My doctor required a letter from UR and Mr. Toomey stating EXACTLY what they needed in the letter. I left at least 20 messages for UR over a 3 week period and she DID NOT return my call or contact my doctor - Even though her voice mail states she will return your call within 2 business days. When she finally called me 6 weeks later, she left a message stating they no longer represented me. When I returned her call, she was rude, denied that I had asked her to call my doctors office for the info they had requested from her. She raised her voice very loudly and said "well, that's OK because we no longer represent you!"
If you do not live in the same state as the Toomey law firm is based, I believe that you should not even let them represent you. They are not loyal and you will be the one doing all the leg work. Yet, they'll sit back and take at least 1/3 or more of what is yours if you do get your disability or they will simply drop you at whim. Even when they have supposedly been on your side after almost 2 years.
They should not be in the business of helping the disabled.

The first call I had with them was great, the woman was pleasant and understanding. She said I had a great case.
Once I had filled out all paperwork and sent it to where it had to go, I had to wait almost 2 years for my hearing in front of a ALJ. In this time, I was bounced around from case manager to case manager.. When I called, it would take days for them to return my call, and they would be curt and act as if I was a nuisance, it was impossible to update them on anything.
I finally talked to my actual lawyer for the first time the afternoon before my hearing, to go over how the case would go. When I arrived to the office for my case hearing, I met my lawyer. He talked about my case as if he had just thumbed through it five minutes ago, and said that without agoraphobia, it would be a difficult case. (I later googled agoraphobia to find I actually do have it, wish I could review the whole health system too but for now, back to this law firm). The hearing was presented with outdated information, I was lead to believe that Greeman Toomey would update disability for me? After the hearing, my lawyer got uncomfortably close and said that the case was going to be a hard one, and this was after hearing that I have PTSD from sexual abuse. Whether he was trying to be a creep or not, I was very uncomfortable. I mumbled an okay and quickly left to go to my friend waiting in the car.
About 4 months later, I find out I have been denied benefits, and these guys dropped me as a client.. I was planning on dropping them anyway as my business with them was atrocious... Don't do business with them, find anyone else. Anyone else..
