On January 5th, 2018, I was unfortunately arrested for a DUI. (3rd degree, breath refusal) I was recommended to contract Mr. Baker in regards to defense, and I can't even express how happy I am that I did. Not only was my Gross Misdemeanor reduced to a Misdemeanor (4th degree DUI), but I also only received 1 day of STS, a $300 fine, along with the alcohol classes that you have probably heard of. He was blunt and straight to the point and sometimes I didn't like what he was saying, but he always honest with me and knew what he was talking about. I could get a hold of him whenever I had a question and whenever I needed help with my situation. He is an outstanding guy who really knows what he is doing.
I was charged on Jan 5 and my case was disposed on May 3. I hope I never have to, but if I do, I will call Steve again.

My daughter hired Stephen Baker after getting arrested for a DWI. I supported my daughter (i.e., paid for legal services), and was right there with my daughter through all legal meetings.
Navigating through all the legal stuff is intricate, puzzling, and overwhelming. I am so glad my daughter found Stephen to represent her! He chartered us through this process, gave my daughter a very clear “to do” list, was very thorough as explained each step, he has the wisdom to know exactly what needs to be done, he answered my texts immediately, he took time with us and gave us his undivided attention during our meetings—in other words, he made the process as smooth and as stress free as possible.
To be perfectly honest, I had hesitations with an attorney that makes his living representing DWI clients—the stereotype I had lingering in the back of my mind was a “sleazy 2 bit, slightly worse than a used car salesman” type image. I will say Stephen Baker to be: ethical, well schooled, complete understanding of DWI law, well connected in all the right places, good contacts (including a decent bail bondsman), and an overall decent human being. This proved to work to my daughters benefit as the legal process came to an end. My daughters outcome was more favorable than it would have been had we tried this on our own. DWI’s are horrible and complicated. On a happy note, my daughter decided drinking is not worth all its trouble.
